SR write: "Mate, when I say you lot on the right that doesn't mean you individually, it means as a collective."
Well, pal, you addressed the post directly to me. What we have here is SR, having been asked to support his assertions with evidence, running for cover. Standard operating procedure for SR. I'm not part of a collective. Never have been. I don't form opinions based upon my or any other perceived group. I don't have a 'lot'. I know that'll be hard for people like SR who desperately want to have the protection of the herd, but nonetheless. Just asserting Trump is authoritarian doesn't make it so, although that's what the herd 'thinks'. Its projection on steroids. Posted by mhaze, Saturday, 20 February 2021 9:35:43 AM

The ABC has reported ABS figures that show record numbers of people leaving cities with draconian reactions to the virus. Melbourne leads with an increase of a factor of 8 for the quarter.
Hobart, Perth, Darwin and Adelaide have remained steady, an indicator of where people feel safer. Posted by ttbn, Saturday, 20 February 2021 10:31:16 AM

Dear mhaze,
Of course you are a part of a group. Polling has only 1 in 5 Australians supportive of Trump's reelection. That is about the figure for the hard right. You were most ardent about your deep affection for the man which puts you in a fifth of that fifth. Trump's authoritarian streak has been widely discussed and is evident except in his most fawning devotees like yourself. http://www.justsecurity.org/70544/trumps-moves-are-right-out-of-the-authoritarian-playbook/ http://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2020-09-20/trump-s-running-mate-is-authoritarianism http://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/11/trump-proved-authoritarians-can-get-elected-america/617023/ Posted by SteeleRedux, Saturday, 20 February 2021 10:57:56 AM

Dear individual,
Indeed. Sydney lost the most people in the latest figures with 22,416 leaving against Melbourne's 21,850. The factor of 8 quote you put was made in an ABC report which also stated: "Sydney experienced the biggest loss of people during the September quarter, however, the data shows this trend had been happening to some extent even before the pandemic." You do need to be careful when you quote statistics and should check the sources where you can. Posted by SteeleRedux, Saturday, 20 February 2021 4:35:34 PM

Daniel Andrews has a Bill in the Parliament this week, to extend
Victoria’s State of Emergency right throughout 2021, and I think it’s a bad idea.
I don’t think any politician, especially not the current Premier, should have that amount of control over your life.
But I want to hear from you. Do you support the government extending the State of Emergency powers from 12 months to 21 months?
Have your say.
