Professor of Law at Queensland University, James Allan, thinks that Australia has the worst political class in a hundred years. That opinion is very hard to argue with, and it is all our fault; the electorate always gets the government it deserves.

This fact has never been more evident since the China virus panic. The childish adoration of the Ad Man and the grovelling to unelected public servants. The sheep are ever-so-grateful to a PM for his ‘expert’-induced panic which has increased debt, unemployment and wrecked many small and middle-sized businesses. All fanned by the ABC and the Left press; all over a disease which has a death rate just a little over the ordinary influenza, with the people dying with it mainly older than the average life expectancy for Australians.

Allan is amazed at how weakly Australians have given up their liberties, and at how they still consider that a good job has been done with the China virus. Even the tyrannical Andrews government stuff-up is praised. In SA, some of the sheep herd are referring to ‘expert’ Professor Nicola Spurrier as ‘Saint Nicola’.

What an opportunity there is for a switch to totalitarianism while a weak, easily led populous is feeling even more vulnerable than normal and wailing for protection from something that doesn’t even figure in the top ten of medical threats

The commissars have started fighting among themselves. This morning, it was announced that the SA police commissioner had overridden the health ‘expert’ on distancing in hospitality venues because of complaints from the industry. The area per person has been reduced to 2 metres from the 4 metres ordained by the health poobah

What can we expect from a rabid right poster, yet another thread on what insignificance the Covid-19 pandemic really is. Forget about the lives saved, or the lives lost, after all they were only old farts who were past their used-by-date anyway. People like ttbn would much rather listen to the Dangerous Doctor Donald, the golf playing, turkey sparing nincompoop, than offer any thanks or gratitude to the people who thus far have protected Australians from the worst of the pandemic, the medical workers, the public servants of all kinds, the scientists, and yes, some of the more moderate politicians as well. No thanks to those who risked their lives treating the sick and dying, no thanks to those who have worked extremely hard developing a vaccine in double quick time which will ultimately save millions of lives. Just look to the land of free and the home of the brave, to see what poor leadership brings when a deadly pandemic strikes. The Orange Man supported by nut jobs from the far right has thus far presided over more than 14 million known cases, at least 280,000 deaths and an infection rate of over 200,000/day and climbing.

"What an opportunity there is for a switch to totalitarianism" The only ones desiring that are the nut jobs from the rabid right. In America where enough people had the good sense to vote an incompetent arsehole out of office, the arsehole is now doing his best to hold on to dictatorial power, as he abandons the democratic process. My thinking is the hard right nut jobs would do the same in Australia given the opportunity, there are several of them on this Forum.

Ttbn,

Yes, perhaps you would be enthusiastic if governments could set up a system whereby, once someone turn eighty one or so, they must register for elimination, and await the removal trucks. Perhaps they may be granted their last favourite meal.

Since we're all doomed anyway, you would probably be happy to be amongst the first to sign up, once you've turned eighty one.

I wonder if you'll be missed on OLO.

Joe

Joe,

I usually look forward to your huffing and puffing because it always assures me that I am on the right track. But on this occasion I haven't a clue what you are talking about. There is no connection between your comments and my post. I'm guessing that you might be having trouble with your own mortality at the moment
