I can only wonder just what sort of mentality could find that sort of self indulgent rubbish even watchable, let alone interesting.

Best thing I’ve seen in “yonks”. I’m all for satire, especially satire with large doses of evidence behind it. But I hope your not performing a partisan role by posting this. Should I remind you just in case, there is a major trial underway in NSW designed to round up a Labor criminal enterprise, with the leading role played by another “ethnic Australian” Eddie Obeid and his vast company of crooks. If It’s not who is Australian the question, surely it must be asked, why so many ethnic criminals make their way into leading positions of power only to exercise their low life corrupt ethnic tendencies? And here is another kick in the guts for honesty, another Question: “IF” Those corrupt political class (from all sides), are rolled, who but the high end legal eagles in town (Howard and his connected mates) in the business of not only clearing paths for corruption for their mates, but also ensuring the rare investigation of political crimes are stung out for the maximum greedy benefit of time for themselves to profit from the crimes. A crime in itself one might argue! Bullet proof vest anyone? I support your approach with this angle SR, but stay the course on non partisan, or all advantage is lost. Phil,
You must admit it is an eyeopener. I was unaware how high Don Barilano had risen. "Godafather, please ......... I need a favour." "Dont'a worry Signore Opinionini, I will make him an other he cannot refuse." "Thank you Godafather, grazie!" "But Signore Opinionini, dont'a forget ....... a time will come when I willa wanta something for you to do." "Si Don Barilano ..... Si!" Makes me think of Tony Abbott's proposal to sell Australian citizenship the the Chinese for $25,000 so that we could all get rich. I suppose that was his contribution to the Asianization of Australia. Posted by Mr Opinion, Tuesday, 22 September 2020 7:50:49 AM

*... how high Don Barilano had risen...* So rotten (high) he can’t be seen through the swarm of blow flies. If a moron at the level of Barilano rises so effortlessly to the political scum level, makes you wonder who is behind him. Dan Posted by diver dan, Tuesday, 22 September 2020 8:04:48 AM

diver dan,
Phil, Bazz, the shadyminister, etc. will be able to answer that question for you. I don't know the answer because I am honest and trustworthy and people with my background don't come into contact with the Barilani, the Forresti, and the Abbotti of the world. "I’m all for satire", Dan.
If that is satire Dan, just how low would it have to go before you called it verbal slapstick. University undergraduate humor of the lowest order, only possibly watchable if you totally agree with the dill doing it. Posted by Hasbeen, Tuesday, 22 September 2020 11:22:11 AM

Friendly Jordies' video doesn't surprise me because I am fully aware of how dishonest and untrustworthy most politicians, bureaucrats and business people are.

Hi Foxy,
If your not too familiar with NSW State politics, then Barilaro might be an unknown to you. The bloke has a "reputation" if you know what I mean. I recall when he took over the leadership of the Nats in 2016, a Liberal Party long time member, and friend, his only comment to me was; "The Nats might be sorry, they made that choice." Maybe its Barilaro's Joh Bjelke Petersen style of party leadership that brings him so much criticism. Recently he tried to hold a gun to Berejiklian's head and tried to blackmail Gladys over his koala killing idea. Gladys had, had enough of him and that was the last straw. The Federal Nats blocked his attempt to run for a federal seat at the Eden-Monaro by-election, McCormack is obviously no friend. Nats MP Leslie Williams resigned the party and joined the Liberal over Barilaro and the koala killing idea. At the last state election the Nats were shot to pieces by the Shooters and Hooters party. A lot of the blame for that disastrous result was laid at the feet of Bonkers Barrals. Things are heating up for the bloke, so what does he do, he pulls a mentally and goes, I assume, to the nut house, if he did, its a good place for him, he needs the help. Thanks Steele I watched the YouTude, good value. Posted by Paul1405, Tuesday, 22 September 2020 6:44:59 PM

I think you should do the character justice by watching the complete video. And maybe you did, but judging by your reaction, it seems hard to believe anyone disliking its succinct content, irrespective of the theatrics. How much is a vote worth in dollar terms? A used car salesman in the modern day, would not escape as did Barilaros’ slush funding escapades. Shanks did a great job. Maybe he’s popular for the same reasons as another famous satirist from the past, Norman Gunston. (Garry McDonald). Famous for taking the “ Mickey” out of the untouchables of politics. There is definitely an increasing need for satire directed towards modern day Politicians. Dan Posted by diver dan, Tuesday, 22 September 2020 7:40:00 PM

Ring! Ring! (phone ringing).
Don Barilano: "Ciao, ecco Don Barilano. Whatsa you want? No, No I donta know any athing about my bigger housa or where all the money a wenta. Go away I gotta a bad a head and a gotta go to the 'ospital so that I donta have ta answer any a questions." Good idea Gladys. Quarantine him a mental health facility for a month until the heat is off. Posted by Mr Opinion, Tuesday, 22 September 2020 8:08:41 PM

Dear Diver Dan,
I'm old school Australian Democrat in my outlook and Shank's certainly keeping the bastards honest. That he isn't as critical of the other side is a given but he isn't anywhere near as partisan as an Alan Jones or Sky News. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, it was a pretty masterful take down that has managed to get a lot of traction. It will be interesting to see if he gets sued for it. Clive Palmer is currently suing him but Clive sues everyone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmJ7CSRRCDM Michael West's critique is worth reading. It kind of flags people like Hasbeen who are far more concerned about the messenger than the deep corruption the message exposes. But he isn't alone as this has been the focus of much of the mainstream media. http://www.michaelwest.com.au/holding-comedians-to-account-nine-and-news-miss-john-barilaro-hit-friendlyjordies-instead/ I did like your Norman Gunston comparison. Dear Foxy, I understand if it isn't for you. He can come across as a nerdy git and he is certainly a fanboy for Labor, but even so his interview with Kevin Rudd was informative while being good fun. Two nerds bouncing off each other. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kznT8Sa6RjY Posted by SteeleRedux, Wednesday, 23 September 2020 7:22:29 AM

Phil,
I can read you like a book. You turn your back on the truth when it comes to what dishonest and untrustworthy politicians, bureaucrats and business people do because all you care about is how much money and prestige you can get from the misery of others. I reckon they should have given the role of Daniel Plainview in 'There Will Be Blood' to you instead of Daniel Day-Lewis. You would have picked up an Oscar for being what you are. Nothing gets up the nose of a crusty old conservative like a bit of humour. I bet back in the day, Hassy was an Old Joh backer, dutifully marching along with the 'Joh for PM' mob, oblivious to the corrupt activity going on in his precious state of Queensland being perpertrated by the criminals Bjelke-Petersen, Russ Hinze etc. The funny thing was the gullible like Hassy were talking it up the rear end and didn't know it. The LNP in Queensland cannot be trusted with government, as soon as they get into office they are looking for ways to line their own pockets, and feather their own nests.

Dear Paul and Steelie,
I guess I don't really know that much about NSW State politics - therefore I can't really comment on it, it's been years since I lived in Sydney and it's probably changed a great deal from those "good old days". When the lockdown finally ends in Victoria we hope to make a trip driving to Sydney and visiting my old stomping ground (including Rookwood Cemetery where my family is buried) then onto the Hunter Valley - Maitland, Scheville, Greta, Cessnock et cetera. Dead wrong Paul. I was never very political, but apart from approving old Joh's introduction of free hospitals long before other states of any jurisdiction, I was pretty anti Joh. I was all for the libs attempt to bring him down to earth, & very sorry to see it actually give him power in his own right.
It was only after he was gone, & I watched a procession of totally useless premiers of both persuasions that I slowly came to realise what a great job he had done for Queensland & Queenslanders. I know it would irk lefties, who have never seen a single dollar of other peoples money with out wanting to spend it, but he brought a discipline to public spending unequaled by any other leader, state or national, in my lifetime. Fully funded public servants super was one hollow log, rapidly emptied by the frivolous Labor that followed.. Still I don't expect any of you lot, with a cast iron patch permanently covering one eye to ever admit how good he was for HIS state. Posted by Hasbeen, Wednesday, 23 September 2020 12:37:10 PM

Come on Phil. Don't come the raw prawn with us. You're a Joh man through and through.

Mr O,
Never you mind! you, you fellas from down south, come up here to Queensland poking your noses in places where it don't belong, I, I say always asking those silly questions about my government, communists the lot of you! The good folk of Queensland would have me lock you lot up, the lot of you troublemakers, up here making trouble, communist all of you, get back down south where you belong! God knows I know, I, I am right about you fellas and your fancy boy ways from down south, all you trouble makers from down there in Canberra, we know all about you up here in Queensland, we know, we know all about you! Paul1405,
Have you noticed that Phil has a bit of a Joh-mannerism in his statements? And I reckon Phil hobnobs with members of Queensland's royal families like Sir Terence Lewis. Who can forget Sir Joh at his best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7l2doxjnn3Y It's enough to bring tears to Phil's eyes. Posted by Mr Opinion, Wednesday, 23 September 2020 7:24:50 PM

Goodness gracious you don't actually believe that he was an honest and trustworthy person? You're deluded if you do. The best thing I could bring myself to say about him is that he had a lot in common with other members of Queensland's royal families especially Sir Terence Lewis. Outside of that I think anything else I said would make him look like a low-life scumbag. Posted by Mr Opinion, Thursday, 24 September 2020 12:36:55 PM

Put it in Joh's brown paper bag ........ and BLOW. And on your question of land usage I counter your question with a question: Q: How do you turn a $3 million block of land at the Western Sydney airport site into a $30 million block of land at the Western Sydney airport site? A: Ask Scott Morrison. Posted by Mr Opinion, Sunday, 27 September 2020 9:51:13 AM

If you haven't seen it then I advise watching it to the end. Loved it.
However the corruption FJ uncovered seemed to be ignored by the MSM and the focus has been on his methods. The bloke is a comedian. Crude and crass is part of the territory but apparently unforgivable in the eyes of many.
I like his style and if it cuts through to Gen Y then I am all for it.
