Yes, it is alarming.
Because of the bungle, it will now be much harder to contain. Posted by Chris Lewis, Wednesday, 8 July 2020 2:46:23 PM

Might be time to rethink Federation and get rid of the states, although that is probably beyond our idiot politicians.

the whole atmosphere of fear created by the health bureaucrats, lying left media (mainly abc) and both Federal and State Governments has been disgraceful. They always seem to pick the wrong 'experts' to listen to. Why we did not encourage the vulnerable to be keep themselves safe and carry on with life with proper hygiene and social distancing will be a question asked for generations to come. The State ruled by socialism has proven to be the worse in management as it is one rule for the 'elite' and rebellious and another for the golfer or fisherman. The closure of State borders has been a disgraceful political stunt that has simply punished business again. Not one public servant lot their job while the regressives at abc cry poor with a billion plus a year to spread their misinformation. The 10 to a funeral while allowing all the anarchists and foolish ones to march under the lie of blm was nothing short of disgraceful.

If Daniel Andrews was the Liberal Premier of Victoria, we wouldn't hear boo from the hard right Shoddy Minister on this. Just as he fails to acknowledge the shambolic behaviour of the NSW Liberal Heath Minister Hazard when he waved 2700 off the 'Ruby Princess', because a cruse line didn't want a repeat of the costly 'Diamond Princess' debacle it had suffered in Japan. Nor was he concerned when Hazard failed to control the goings on at 'Newmarch' house in Sydney, where the policy seemed to be old people are expendable, keep them locked up. Both of these mistakes cost many lives.
I'll agree the Victorian government made a mistake by using low paid mugs from a money grabbing private security firm for its hotel quarantine, heads show roll, and prison for the firms principles if shown to be negligent is also in order. Posted by Paul1405, Thursday, 9 July 2020 7:43:00 AM

Evidently our state Comrade Generals have not learnt anything from the 'Ruby Princess' debacle. The investigation into the events leading up to the disembarking at Sydney, of sick " parishioner mates" of Scotty from Marketing are yet to be visited. I doubt that we will ever know the truth surrounding this rumour, let alone any other truth resulting in the implication of high rollers who are providing funding the ALP or LNP. Victoria now all but for naming it, in a state of martial law.

Seems the NSW Health Minister The Hazard, is at it again. This time he has waved through a plane load of possibly virus stricken Victorians at Sydney airport without any coronavirus screening as is mandatory. Unacceptable! Posted by Paul1405, Thursday, 9 July 2020 1:47:49 PM

Its alright Paul I think they were blm's protestors/fit throwers. They are exempt from the virus. Just ask Dan. Posted by runner, Thursday, 9 July 2020 9:39:34 PM

Paul,
Like most greens you are an inveterate liar. Hazzard did not wave through a plane load of Victorians from the plague state, nor did he wave through passengers from the Ruby Princess. Like most greens you lack the mental horsepower to see the difference between cock ups being made at a lower level and cock ups being made by those in charge. Bubonic Dan deliberately went against federal advice to use highly trained police to monitor the isolation of returnees and went with the cheap as chips labour hire / security guard firm to provide untrained people who were given a full 30 seconds of training to guard the security of the 6 million people under his control with entirely predictable results. The plane load of passengers were checked before boarding in Melbourne and all submitted their contact details in NSW where they had agreed to self isolate. SM,
I'm glade you acknowledge that the Good Doctor Dan was at the airport, rigorously checking every Mexican before leaving the State. At this very moment the Good Doctor is at 55 boarder crossings, in hotels (not getting pissed, but checking viruses, shouting drinks), up in towers, he is absolutely everywhere 24/7 the man never stops. Where is Premier Big Nose and her sidekick The Hazard? I suspected up on the Central Coast with the Arty Farty Minister having a bloody school holiday! Shadow, The Hazard has done it again. This time he's lost 77 test swabs from the Woolies Balmain hot spot. Some say they were in his back pocket when he lined up with the massive crowed outside The Golden Sheaf Pub in Double Pay, no social distancing there. The pubs an AHA establishment, a big donor to the Liberal Party!

Mr 0
Clearly you didn't listen, Paul, I'm sorry you ran out of your favourite Bex but you should have steered clear of the hard stuff. "On Friday there was a record 288 new cases in Victoria. Andrews is arrogant in success, arrogant in failure. Excusing Andrews by saying this outbreak could have happened in any other state misses the point. It didn’t. Victorian government mistakes — defective hotel quarantine, poor contact with multicultural communities and inadequate tracing — turned an outbreak into a second wave. The firestorm about the accountability of the Andrews government is inevitable. Provided the rest of the country can deflect the second wave, then internal borders — Victoria excepted — should be opened. It is significant that at week’s end the second most important border, between Queensland and NSW, reopened — a sign of confidence in the non-Victorian economy. Any retreat on this front would be a calamity." Posted by Shadow Minister, Saturday, 11 July 2020 5:35:39 AM

We may not see Shoddy Minister for the next 14 days. Seems when he got home after a days latrine duty to his 21st floor one room bed/sit in Houso' Block 9 Commissar Andrewski was waiting for him. A quick test up the klakker with the big virus swab, left him two weeks supply of culturally sensitive Wuhan Bat Soup, welded up his door. AND BOBS YOUR UNCLE, NO MORE SM FOR A FORTNIGHT!

Clearly your janitorial work does not interfere with your recreational hallucinogens as clearly you are more proficient in talking crap than cleaning it up. What is the policy of the Pedogreens on covid 19, and as a hint it is not a type of glue you can sniff. I also hear that Bubonic Dan would like Covid to be equally shared amongst all Victorians. Dear Shadow Minister,
As a Victorian I am certainly pissed off at the missteps of the Victorian government. I am firmly convinced that Andrews brought Morrison kicking and screaming along in the initial stages and without his leadership the Feds would have taken a different path, one that would have us in far more trouble than where we currently are. But the use of the private sector on a role as important as that was ill advised at the best. However that doesn't excuse you pasting up crap from Murdoch like this; "The commonwealth offered the deployment of the Australian Defence Force, for free, to the states for the task of managing hotel quarantine. Every state that accepted this offer has not had one single transmission of the virus." From my reading there was only a single state which use defense force personnel for hotel quarantine. Do you know of others? Posted by SteeleRedux, Sunday, 12 July 2020 12:31:22 PM

Come off the raw prawn SR.
You know as well as anyone that it was a union dictate that forced the use of bouncers as guards, in Victoria. Talk about a state of disgrace, a state of total lefty disfunction is closer to the fact. Posted by Hasbeen, Sunday, 12 July 2020 1:57:02 PM

SR,
Between you and Foxy it looks like Victoria is also the state of delusion as only the deluded could believe that Morrison would take his cue in anything from bubonic Dan. That Victoria was not the first area to trial lock down in the world seems escape you. That Disease Dan didn't follow Morrison's advice is the reason that Victoria is now the plague state. That Victoria's infection rate is now higher than any time during the first wave and accelerating means that Victorian will need to be isolated from the rest of the country for some time, and the economic consequences for will be far worse. Funny how the same pundits who were moaning about Andrews not lifting the restrictions earlier are now complaining that he lifted them too soon.
After Morrison's abysmal performance over the bushfires, Andrews was outshining him and weeks ago the Twittersphere was lit up with comments that Murdoch Journos were told to "get Andrews". Maybe if people followed basic instructions about social distancing and other precautions, things would have been different. What can be done about those who insist it's all a hoax or that it's caused by 5G? So what exactly did Andrews do differently from other State Premiers? Here in NSW we had the Ruby Princess bungle but now a new cluster has broken out as well as various venues being fined for hosting big crowds. This isn't over by any means and mixed messages from PMs who like to go and watch the footy don't help. Posted by rache, Tuesday, 14 July 2020 1:54:40 AM

"Victorian health authorities have confirmed a link between two COVID-19 cases in people who attended the Black Lives Matter protest in Melbourne’s CBD just over a month ago, and the cluster of at least 242 cases in public housing towers in the city’s inner northwest."
Rache You claim "Funny how the same pundits who were moaning about Andrews not lifting the restrictions earlier are now complaining that he lifted them too soon" Could you point out even one? The present cock up is not because he lifted restrictions too soon. Posted by Shadow Minister, Wednesday, 15 July 2020 2:40:17 AM

Growing concern Shadow that the NSW Heath Minister The Hazard has cocked up again by opening pubs too early. A growing cluster of virus cases now over 30, is linked to the Crossroads Hotel in south west Sydney. Was there pressure put on the NSW Liberal government by Liberal Party donors within the hotel industry to get the pubs open?
You said you were planning a trip up here to the sunny Gold Coast to escape the misery of Sydney. Normally we welcome you refugees from the big freeze down south with open arms, but due to your present state of health me thinks we'll pass this time. Hasta la vista baby! Shoddy Minister,
How much do you spend per month on your subscriptions to the foreign owned Murdoch Gutter Press? By regurgitating bile from the likes of 'Beat Up'Bolt and the woman whose name sounds like a porn star, the "Lovely" Miranda Devine along with the ravings of Crusty Old' Akerman, does you no good. BTW, how are you going on your claim of 3 years ago that an arrest in the Beat'Up' Bolt nonsense was IMMINENT. "That was not from any Newscorp publication" What are you saying SM, you made it up? Ok I'll accept that, you should not make things up, you should let the mugs from the Murdoch gutter press make it up, and then you can reproduce their rubbish. That would put you in the clear, sort of. Just trying to be helpful.

You are a pretty pathetic troll. Unlike you I don't generally make stuff up. Here's a hint, the article is not only not Newscorp, it is not Australian. I suggest that you do the minimal research before making yourself look like an idiot. As for the Crossroads hotel cluster, that has been traced back to a refugee from Victoria. Also "Top bureaucrats warned senior health officials at the beginning of the Andrews government's botched hotel quarantine scheme that security guards were ill-equipped for the work and demanded police be called in to take control." - The Age Posted by Shadow Minister, Wednesday, 15 July 2020 8:04:59 AM

SM,
Andrews kills three people ?! And Trumpf can manage only a thousand or so each day (on the same logic of responsibilities) ? What a wimp ! But wait ! In a couple of weeks, it will be two thousand a day in the US. In a month, maybe three thousand. A new 9/11 every day ! Thank you, Pussy Man ! And why ? Because Trumpf doesn't want to either test or trace (because that way, you only boost the numbers unnecessarily) or provide enough health facilities, let it rip, he'll be okay down in his bunker. Aren't hospitals a state affair even in the US? If so then what has Trump got to do with it. Compounded with the fact that state governor's aren't addressing the civil disturbance caused by BLM within the states.

Come of it, CM,
Trumpf has as much power in the US as Morrison does here, to pull together the governors (premiers) and nut out a common set of policies. After all wasn't Trumpf claiming to have total power just a few weeks ago, when it suited him ? Wasn't he going to send out the Army and National Guard ? Why I don't know, but he does remind me of General Dreedle in Catch-22 (played by Orson Welles in the film) when he was told that he couldn't have Richard Benjamin shot for groaning. You sort of expect him to demand, "What ?! I've got total power and I can't have someone shot if I want to ?!" Then again: http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/books-magazines/books/how-donald-trumps-father-fred-trump-destroyed-his-sons-life/news-story/cf8f6d50ab6c0fd09f03268032d74ac0 Well, he's your boy, you're stuck with him until November :) Joe Joe Posted by loudmouth2, Sunday, 19 July 2020 5:18:44 PM

Hi Joe,
Read an interesting article this morning, it detailed how since early April Trump's inner circle of Covid-19 response advisers have mostly been sycophantic in their delivery. These people have tried to anticipate the Trump view, and have mostly tried to accommodate the ever erratic Trump. There have been notable exceptions Dr Fauci, a man of trusted expert opinion for one. Dr Fauci has tried to deliver sound medical advice, despite Trump. This unbiased advice has seen Dr Fauci sidelined to a great degree, but still he is trying his best to get the message out there for the sake of the American people . Hitler had his untouchable Hindenburg, and Trump has his Fauci. Anyone one else would have been sacked weeks ago as a total incompetent fool by Trump. Posted by Paul1405, Sunday, 19 July 2020 5:21:45 PM

Paul,
Well, we live in interesting times, in the traditional Chinese sense. I think Trumpf would love to have Fauci flayed alive and his head and skin hung on the White House gates (with his children sold into prostitution, perhaps in one of the Trumpf brothels, like in the good old days of his grandfather). But legislation to allow that hasn't been passed by the Republican-controlled Senate yet. Policies in the US in relation to the Covid-19 virus (I was going to write 'policies against the virus' but that wouldn't be accurate) seem to be to let it rip- , 'we're all sick and tired of doing the right thing, and anyway what if it's all a hoax' ? And anyway, more people die each year from the flu. And anyway, if you close your eyes, you can't see it. There are no bears in the woods. If you run off a cliff, as long as you don't look down, .... But what if it's actually real ? A thousand Americans dying each day now, two thousand in a couple of weeks, three or four thousand a couple of weeks later. Half a million deaths by early November. Hindsight is a wonderful teacher, I know, but it does seem that an early and very, very hard lock-down for a month or six weeks, would have been a fairly effective way to limit the damage from this virus until a vaccine could be found and produced in enough quantities for all of the world, not just for the US. Morrison here in Australia was on the right track - except (and for the life of me, I can't understand why) international travel was still allowed (and probably still is: how stupid can you get ?). Long way home yet. Chin up :) Joe Posted by loudmouth2, Sunday, 19 July 2020 5:45:20 PM

LM2,
Considering that the rest of Aus is not killing anyone Bubonic Dan is setting new records here. If you want a random comparison I can go to WW2 with Hitler killing many 1000s dying a day. Moron. However, the comparison between Dan Andrews and Trump is beginning to get stronger. Posted by Shadow Minister, Monday, 20 July 2020 5:23:31 AM

Shadow Minister,
You are thick. You do know contact tracing also involves genetic finger printing. Each time the virus infects someone it picks up markers from person so subsequent infections can be quite clearly traced? No of course you don't because willful bloody ignorance is your forte. If the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services makes a clear statement about sources of infection they are not guessing. Not like some keyboard warrior like yourself who is so intent on slagging off on all and sundry. Sorry old chap but the facts don't fit your agenda. Go make up some others and present them here. "Victorians are officially the pariahs of the nation, with NSW closing the state border. Victorians are literally banned from the rest of our country. The border closure is a stiff economic penalty for regional communities along the Murray River, which are being punished for the negligence of Daniel Andrews and his ministers to manage hotel quarantine.
We also have 3000 residents of nine public housing estates under house arrest and the rest of our suburbs and an adjoining shire back to stage-three lockdown because Andrews decided to use bouncers who fraternised with returned travellers in quarantine and spread the virus into the northern and western suburbs of Melbourne. The government proposes replacing private security with a mixture of prison officers and laid-off staff from Qantas and Jetstar to manage the mess. You couldn’t make this up.
The commonwealth offered the deployment of the Australian Defence Force, for free, to the states for the task of managing hotel quarantine. Every state that accepted this offer has not had one single transmission of the virus."
