Australian Muslims being INSULTED , a danger for Australian National Security?

Some people say that if Australian Muslims feel they have been insulted by Australian people or by the Australian government, they might have a violent response to that and it can be a danger for Australian National Security in the future. What do you think? Do you think it is right?

Whether it is true or not, I believe we should not insult any religion, we should respect to all. I have seen some rude words about religion in my last post when people have replied to my post. Please do not write any rude word about Christianity or Islam or any other religion. Thanks.

Of course you shouldn't, but some people will and they should have the right to do so.

My response is simple.....

1/ the Gospel of Christ... IS 'offensive' just look at how Ginx and Bugsy, CJ and Pericles react to it... (not putting them down, I'm sure they would agree with me here)

2/ The Gospel is more powerful than all other movements in history, always was, always will be till He returns.

Freedriver three questions:
1. why shouldn't she do it?
2. Why do some people have right to do so?
3. Who are those people?

Boaz, I've warned you before, stop watching YouTube - especially that Christian propaganda. It prevents you from thinking for yourself.

It also make you say crazy things like:

>>the Gospel of Christ... IS 'offensive' just look at how Ginx and Bugsy, CJ and Pericles react to it... (not putting them down, I'm sure they would agree with me here)<<

Wrong, Boaz. Whatever gave you the impression that I have ever been offended by the Bible, or any part of it? It is a perfectly inoffensive document, full of wild and wacky stories about people with a need to identify with the spiritual world. The Harry Potter of its day, in a way, only one that takes itself 'way more seriously...

What is offensive is the way that some people use its contents to justify hatred against others, a hatred that has quite often been fatal.

What is offensive about the way you yourself treat the gospel, is that you allow yourself to believe that anyone who relies for their spiritual comfort on a different one, is somehow inferior.

It is also offensive that you use this sense of superiority to blind you to the fact that your evangelizing frequently crosses the boundary from proselytizing into rabble-rousing.

It's not the book. It's the reader.

The book hasn't killed anyone. Its readers have.

To anyone who is not blind Angela 84 you come with a pre set view on this subject.
I see attempts to rabble rouse here, yes Australians are concerned at the worst of fundamentalism from Islamics.
And it would surprise few that one country's people more than any other are of concern.
But I see no value in an issue that is not yet on the horizon.
In time, without much more input from the majority from our Muslim community we face trouble and maybe a war but I see no point in starting it.

Aaah Pericles.....there you go again.

I say you are "offended" by the message, not just the messenger, because you ridicule it, as you did in your last post "The Harry Potter of its day".

Then, you go right off the rails, and charge me with a
-'superiority' complex, and
-'hate' for those of different faiths.

I'm amazed that you think, that I think non Christians are 'inferior' to Christians ? I'll speak of 'lost' and 'saved' but not inferiority.. heaven forbid. You need to realize that regarding someone as 'lost' is not a value judgement on their intrinsic worth, but a statement of spiritual status and need, but are not yet in fellowship relationship with Him as God desires.

You are right that 'SOME' people use spiritual difference to feed generalized hate, but not me, so why mention it? You will always have an element in ANY belief system who have severe views of non them.

Pointing out the extreme dangers of the likes of this, cannot be construed as 'rabble rousing'... its just not possible.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKUoxbR9mwA

You have to accept that to rally Aussies against 'that' is not to rally them against "All Muslims".
Educating them about the nature of the Islamic mindset which produces the above behavior is hardly rabble rousing. It's unavoidable that in opening minds to what causes that behavior will have leakage in some people to attribute this mindset to 'all' Muslims no matter how much you differentiate between 'radical' and 'moderate'.
The simple solution is for Muslims themselves to publically condemn and oppose such things... problem solved. In the absense of that, others might do it.

Have a look at this please.

1. why shouldn't she do it?

It's not nice to insult people

2. Why do some people have right to do so?

Freedome of speech. This is more important than being nice. Attacks on freedom of speech are inevitably far worse than whatever 'problem' they were tring to silence.

3. Who are those people?

Not some people. Everyone.

Gee CJ...you better take up pigshooting..you got a 303 or don't you know what that is.
ALL wars were started because of beliefs, so if we want to learn from history we should not need to mormonise, judicise, islamise and criticise any body.Hanson had the right idea not supporting the aboriginals, see what J.H. is doing now then? Taking their land rights as well,(not a Hanson idea!)

Long bow, Boaz, a very long bow:

>>I say you are "offended" by the message, not just the messenger, because you ridicule it, as you did in your last post "The Harry Potter of its day"<<

I always admire the way you sidestep the main argument by taking issue with minutiae. It's a genuine talent.

"If thine eye offend thee, pluck it out"

Now that is a real reaction to being offended, wouldn't you say? Ridicule - if you can call my rather affectionate aside, ridicule - is not very high on the list of reactions to being offended, now is it?

And I went out of my way to show my affection by describing it as "a perfectly inoffensive document, full of wild and wacky stories about people with a need to identify with the spiritual world". Hardly the attitude of one who is offended, Boaz.

You, on the other hand, would be perfectly justified in being offended by my somewhat playful reference to a book that you revere.

>>You are right that 'SOME' people use spiritual difference to feed generalized hate, but not me, so why mention it?<<

I mention it because that is exactly, precisely and literally what you do. The sad part, I grant you, is that you don't realize it. But the reason that I keep harping on at you about your whack-a-mozzie antics is because you are using "spiritual difference to feed generalized hate"

Perilous.... the only 'mozzies' I'm whacking these days are the likes of those in those vids....

Bear in mind..this thread is about a specific subject, and I'm offering perspectives on 'that' topic... is it out of order ?

You must admit, they are terrible no ? My confidence in the Police is rising though, they are getting the Maroubra/Cronulla revenge attackers one by one.. but the sentencing is beyond belief.. weekend detention for those who hurled concrete blocks into the head of a hapless passer by ? to me thats attempted murder..not the lesser charge of Assault.

If I refrain from pointing out this material, you will just about lose your purpose in life eh :) which seems to be about 80% to pick on me.. (not that I mind)

I think the generalized hate you speak of.. is far more likely to arise from knee jerk reactions to NewsCorps very noticable 'marginalization' campaign.. and their exposure of Muslims in a bad light... than by me. Newscorp does not analyse.. it just shoots from the hip... I try to educate people about theological origins.

Speaking of which..this might strike your fancy.. if you can get past the ridiculous and innappropriate laugh of Dr James White (Christian apologist) you'll find he is a wealth of info on the Textual issues of the bible.

Its pretty technical but if you begin from the 'free' link near the bottom of the page you will be greatly informed.

..................see? See that? You can't, can you?

I think ALL religion is fanciful and silly. I find the way that YOU push, and push, and push it, as OFFENSIVE.

Look at your silly (and inciteful) 1&2 statements. 'They' say it's offensive/I say it is the one ; the only; and 'HE' is coming back....

You are a powerful magnet for annoyance more than anything else.
When you were born and the Doc' hung you upside down to smack your bum; he smacked you in the face didn't he? Then the rest of the queue did; didn't they?

DON'T mention my name in your posts. I WILL respond.

Boaz, you appear to be able to mislead yourself on the smallest topic.

>>Bear in mind..this thread is about a specific subject, and I'm offering perspectives on 'that' topic... is it out of order ?<<

The specific topic is:

"Some people say that if Australian Muslims feel they have been insulted by Australian people or by the Australian government, they might have a violent response to that and it can be a danger for Australian National Security in the future. What do you think? Do you think it is right?"

Your immediate response:

"the Gospel of Christ... IS 'offensive'... is more powerful than all other movements in history, always was, always will be till He returns."

That isn't "offering perspectives", Boaz, that is provocation, pure and simple.

On the subject of misleading yourself...

"I think the generalized hate you speak of.. is far more likely to arise from knee jerk reactions to NewsCorps very noticable 'marginalization' campaign.. and their exposure of Muslims in a bad light... than by me. Newscorp does not analyse.. it just shoots from the hip... I try to educate people about theological origins."

Ya think?

Your "education" is about as educational as a concrete block dropped on the head of a hapless passer-by.

"Please do not write any rude word about Christianity or Islam or any other religion. Thanks."

Depends what you call "rude" Angela. I respect peoples right
to believe whatever they want, not what they believe.

With religion, for me its quite simple. If they are Hare
Krishnas or Buddhists, they generally keep out of politics.
In that case I really don't care what they do and have little
to say about them.

If they are highly political, as are both Christianity and
Islam, then its open slather, as in all politics. Trying
to deny free speech in politics is a dangerous slippery
slope. In countries where it applies, religious tyrants
often rule hiding behind their religion, those who criticise
are locked up or even put to death.

It used to apply in what are today Western countries. Those
so called Christians used to burn people like me at the stake :(

Luckily they can't do so anymore :)

The answer is simple. If religions don't want to be in the
open slather that is politics, best they keep out and treat
religion as no more then a lifestyle choice, which is how
things should be in a secular democracy.

I just read Philos post on the other thread and yes it was insulting.
Instead off letting off steam you should consider how those comments might effect the other Muslim faith living here.
There is only one way to win a debate or even a war if you like and that is with honour.
If you see anything brave in creeping around in tha dark like a dingo then I guess thats your idea of honour.

Do you `really see` those lily livid cowards that are stupid enough to put explosives on their backs and blow themselves and innocent children and people up as heros?

Thats not the Islam faith I have seen.

No matter the colour of a persons skin OR their relgioun a coward is a coward.
These suicide bomers etc are also pretty stupid too.
Just think of it.
They are usually what we term extreme.
They are the idiots that think they can tell people - How to dress and what to wear and even what to eat.
[ I always said Mohamed was a good business man] To control what people eat and where they get itfrom is smart. Smarter than our Governments that for sure!
The ectreme often say women are evil and Muslim should not have a beer or look at a pretty women.
Then they are promised a life of all the wine they can drink and many evil women.
Whatever you think nobody has the right to tell others what to think and thats goes doubly for philo and I 'AM sorry' he has upset you.
Now show me who the better man- You or Philo?

Are you going to allow him to make you loose your temper again? or come back and and show the nice side of you and the Islam faith
Which one are you oZ the good Islam or one of the cowards?
You have brothers and sisters that could be effected by your words of anger.
Show me you care Oz
