Josephus,

The last report I heard a couple of months ago was for a 60-70% chance of an El Nino event this Xmas. Up 5-10% on the indication several months earlier than that one. Not a major EN but still an EN event, which will mean continuing drought and most probably more extreme fires and water shortages.

Looks like you are doing your own calculations based on information you are gleaning from BOM, etc. Are you a meteorologist?

Fester 40 plus years and tried so much but just now have a newly released spray on and rub in that works.
Saw that reference to us believers having a religion based on well, a usual throwaway insult from the other side, not our view
Now us believers [your words not mine] we have been conned its a hoax, tell me by who.
Tell me for what reason?.
If true then surely you will agree a huge group has [for not yet known reasons] been used to confuse lie, write Fake news Fake views about Fake climate change and I am one of its victims.
OK so far?.
Then we agree some hugely powerful group exists driving miss information to achieve?[leave that until we find out!?
The question as we agree that group exists can we ask is it driving and deceiving me? or you?

Something we haven't discussed is the psychological dimension of AGW / climate change denial.

We should keep in mind that for the denialist the idea that AGW might be a myth or fallacy or deception provides them with comfort and relief from the anxiety of facing the enormity of environmental destruction being wrought by AGW.

They don't want their world to change so they try to shut it out by denying the cause of climate change and environmental destruction. They attempt to exonerate themselves from blame by positing causes beyond human control.

An interesting topic and one that should have been raised long before now.

What is being done now to get ready for the next floods ? How many storage lagoons etc are being constructed ? Or, will all the water again be allowed to run off the car parks etc. & as per usual disperse un-filtered into the ocean ?
Will farmers be allowed to store more flood water or will the insipid academic experts again prevent forward planning as per usual ?
Water must be given the chance to absorb into the ground instead of running off the parched, hard ground. Now is the time for the Army to dig absorption trenches wherever possible !
Dig channels to direct excess water to Acquifer areas. It's time to act instead of more theory fests !
