I encourage you to come to Sydney and have a look for yourself. It's not the Australia you are used to seeing at home. You won't find too many people like yourself walking around the streets. Mostly Chinese. At Sydney Airport all the signs and notices are written in both English and Chinese. A lot of shops around Sydney cater only for Chinese customers.

If you cannot come to Sydney and see for yourself then maybe you know others who have been here and can tell you what it's like.

If Hong Kong is anything to go by China will have to deal with so much internal strife that they won't even give Australia a second thought except perhaps, wondering how on Earth they'll pay for our coal !
