Canberra recently gave away $444 million for Barrier Reef funding.

The Barrier Reef gets 80,000,000kg nitrogen a year from cane fertiliser , triple the normal healthy amount from bird and fish waste. Qld cane-farm rivers have around 400 micrograms / litres nitrogen where 200 mcg is the danger level.

Electrolysis of sewage is claimed to remove Nitrogen at 240g / 1000 litres per Kwh . Solar power costs around .25c over 20 years cost of panel installation or $500 per Kw capacity. Qld cane-farm rivers outflow is 16 trillion litres /year. If electrolysis is installed in drains from cane-fields then the cost seems to be $3mill /year for 20 years fitting solar equipment of 120,000 Kw capacity.

There are 2.4 million Reef tourists a year staying a couple of nights and 3000 farmers pay for 80,000 tons of nitrogen fertiliser. A small tax on tourists and farmers pays the cost of electrolysis and bureaucrats .

A bit of specific water-control by drainage weirs might be workable for electrolysis.

Yeah. Let's have more taxes to put someone else out of business, and 'cure' a problem that doesn't exist. Let's root the tourist industry as governments are rooting every other Australian industry with taxes and ecomania.

Tourists will see that white Ausralia includes corals and get used to it.

Yer, but white is nice. That's why all humans have white teeth.
Milk is white, except for artificial colouring if added.
Some knights are white, except during the night, in which case white knights become black knights till the morning.

And over in the US, they have a very famous building renowned, and known as the White House.
And a blond white president.
And white snow covers much of the ground through the winter months.
And further to the North, a rotund old man in a red suit, sits astride a few rain deers and wears a white beard all year round, he is also renowned for his penchant of climbing down black chimneys on Christmas Eve.

White coral should not feel too lonely then.

Sadly , the coral will stay white. And fish skeletons. And dead sea gulls. An educated person tells me that the Nitrogen is too dilute for electrolysis to work. Tourist operators will go white in the face, in the red at the bank and have Black Dog.

Oh no, it's actually Dead Sea scrolls, and not Dead Sea gulls as you incorrectly printed above.
And electrolysis sinks boats, and probably was responsible for the sinking of Noah's ark.

Science has a new discovery using an old form of gravitational index which ascribed much faith at the time, when a mix of thorium and an alloy resembling aluminium was discovered coating the keel of the ark.

Trump laboratories of the US were sprung red-handed selling Noah's formula to the Chinese Jews, and as a sales pitch to Beijing, threw in three million whale leather bound copies of Karl Marx: Philosophy and Revolution. (And two thorium bombs for ping pong practice).

Don't you believe it for a minute NNN.

It WAS around in Noah's day.

Scrap from the UFO invaders crashed flying aluminium saucers.

If there's a genuine problem here then we should at least explore viable solutions.

If this really is a genuine issue then I take it seriously;
And if push comes to shove, I'd prefer to shut down cane growing.
Reason being Australia can always import sugar from elsewhere but we cant import a new great barrier reef.

*...If there's a genuine problem here then we should at least explore viable solutions...*

there is a genuine problem, climate change.
It's not a new phenomenon.
Established evidence of the effects of climate change on coral, adorn earths geological history.

Coral is fragile, and effectively is the result of chemical reactions which end in limestone formations and deposits.
The Great Barrier Reef will one day become a new tourist attraction "the great rock of Australia".

You cannot sugar coat the truth, nor change the flavour of limestone by adding $400m Turnbull wasted tax payer dollars for his mates in big business.

The GBR is kapoot.
