Visual media shows all the gruesome accidents, shoot outs, murders etc in graphic detail to the viewers, the visuals being repeated many a time. This will certainly affect the psychology of people specially the children and will certainly be a frightening experience for many. This is done probably to enhance their viewership by some means or the other so that they can survive in the competitive media world? Is it necessary to show such tragic incidents to the people at all? Is it not enough to just inform people about such events? Governments should take the help of psychologists in this regard and should impose some censorship in this kind of reporting. Money alone cannot be the consideration for media houses and they should have some social responsibility.

Trigger warning?

Rather than trying to wrap society in cotton wool, sometimes gruesome reminders are necessary to encourage behaviours that avoid situations that cause these events.

However, keeping these from programs of small children is preferable.

Fact is fact truth matters
IF media stops showing us the dreadful things happening now around the world the winners will be the mass murdering leaders of countries inflicting war on other countries
Put Your head in sand but understand if that tree falls in the forest and no one is around it still makes a noise
Trying to stop us knowing about it will not stop anything

I am of the opinion that the media resort to this kind of reporting only to make money and the tall talk of "informing the people" is an alibi. The way the visuals are shown in zoom and repetition testfies to this. People do not learn anythig from this kind of reportng. Has the incidence of accidents and crimes come down? On the contrary such visuals desensitise people and they become insensitive ultimately. We must try to remove the causes for the crimes and accidents. Simply preparing people by showing those visuals to face the situation by some means is irrational. We allow all sorts of violations of social norms and laws. But pretty little is done to remedy the causes. A comparison can be drawn in this regard. Street children are exposed to the rough and tumble of life early. What sort of adults they become finally is to be learnt. Wars are forced on people by crooks with fanatical ideologies in the guise of rulers.I don't think children will learn anything positive from war pictures but only helplessness and violence.
