They do so because they are not truly left, not committed to unions, but mostly because, as I have said here for over a decade, are not, never will be, admirers of lunacy
I HIGHLIGHT Labors long march back to the voters will fail, if any hint this man has won emerges
Labor has not left its base, it followed the voters, had it not, and if it fails to do that now, it will be out of office for far more than the 23 year our last exile was

My take on the latest Setka / Albo battle is:

Albo has wanted to get rid of the festering sore that is Setka for a while, but was restrained as picking a fight before the election was not an option. So now with Labor and the ACTU having been silent on JS's criminal activities and the charges for beating his wife for months have now been forced to pick a new battle which is JS's comments on Rosi Battie.

The problem is that JS is disputing the content and meaning of the comments, with the result that he appears to have maintained the support of his union and the ETU and is not only refusing to budge but is cutting the ALP from $ms of funding.

Albo has now painted himself in to a corner. He now can either expand the charges against Setka to the wife beating and his long criminal record, which means that he is in essence supporting the liberal bill to ensure integrity of union officials, or he can back down.

remember Labour supported Craig Thompson for a long long time. I am not sure where the new 'morality' has come from.
