It's hard believe that the government knew that a hostile country's warships were arriving Sydney but they the public wasn't told, as Morrison claims. On the other hand, it is hard to believe that even China would be so arrogant. We will never know, good little mushrooms that we are.

As for the baby formula buy up: if China wants it, Australia should be exporting it to them in the normal way. It makes us look like fools.

I agree with individual on the stupidity of the West. The most stupid is Australia for not standing up to communist aggression by word and deed. China is no country's friend, and it's intentions are clearly aggressive. Out politicians are cowards, incapable of defending our country. We are almost as pathetic as New Zealand when it comes to defence.

ttbn, the government did know the Chinese ships were coming as they
asked permission to enter. That is the normal custom for warships.
Australia has done the same when entering Chinese ports.
Scomo said when questioned said they asked permission and asked for berths.

Belly said- In 1936 many said Japan was a threat others laughed at them

Answer- Ridicule is a useful tool of politics- so we need to take care about jumping on bandwagons.

Ayn Rand talks about buyers being required to sanction the sellers philosophy for a purchase. In other words we restrict trade with nations that have incompatible philosophies.

Bazz,

Fine. But that doesn't detract from the arrogance of deciding not to tell the public before it happened. China is THE biggest threat to Australia, but our dopey politicians seem to be unaware of that. I'm still not comfortable with Morrison. His body language when he is questioned about some of his actions is worth watching. He is unable to hide his defensiveness and the fact that he doesn't like anyone suggesting that he might be wrong.

Look for the jerky little movements of his head and the pursing of his lips next time you see him asked a curly question.

Bazz you at least, along with indy, know we can not ignore China
Rants that we are as a country ,in any way weak for not confronting them is silly
Should they go to war with us we would be defeated in days
The numbers tell us that
To defeat them more deaths would be needed that those in every war man ever fought
We must try to find a way peace not war is the out come
