Those who refuse to learn from history are condemned to repeat it, and when all you can do is shoot the messenger you come across as an ignorant blowhard.
The labor party swung to the left in this last election and is trying to revert to the politics and policies of the 1970s and paid for it with a humiliating loss in an election that they should have won in a canter. Instead of serious introspection and analysis all we are seeing from Labor is excuses and platitudes.
Paul Kelly has held senior positions in both Fairfax and Newscorp and provides highly respected commentary that criticises both sides of politics, and I challenge you to find fault with anything he says.
