Yes - lets keep what we've currently got.
Revenge, ambition, poor decisions -
losing half of voters hope and trust.
Lets all pine for the days when society reflected
and the government served the interests of
middle aged white men.

indy are you Aware those who do vote for the incoming Labor government do not agree with you?
Does that matter? or are you ok with claiming what others think doesn't matter

online voting by the public to decide important issues instead of the politicians making all the decisions

Of course it would need a lot of security. Let the computers count the votes,
Every person could be given a code number for their computer and all the
numbers cross checked to make sure there are no two identical numbers

I think the fact that big businesses, and companies and banks operate globally
is the problem.
They have no real loyalty to any country or people when it comes to employing
people and paying taxes.

A Greek politician said,
" that the money is running the show now
and when the money is in charge
there is no democracy"

To Foxy.

Think about what you said earlier and think on the suggestions you made for making the world better.

From your last post.

<<Lets all pine for the days when society reflected and the government served the interests of middle aged white men.>>

From the first three points of your suggestion.

<<1) Try to make a difference in myself - for the better. Make it a habit to respect everyone and be kind and civil to others. 2) Recognize the humanity of other people and respect their dignity. 3) Respect our differences.>>

I grew up where it was taught in schools by some teachers that men are the evil of the world, and the same for being white. Worse if your a Christian. Makes you kind of bitter to hear this stuff in high-school and college, as well as ongoing through out life the attitude that if your a white man then your opinion doesn't matter, and expecially don't count.

Just a heads up to try and turn from that attitude. Sexism and racism is alive and well being played against people to cause even more bitterness which could be a cause for more counter- sexism and racism in response. Call this a friendly "turn from your sins" kind of thing. Not trying to shame you. But be aware of it. That's the first step to living up to the suggestions you made earlier.

To CHERFUL.

I wish I had the same trust and hope in the system as you have. I don't know if more voting would help anything anymore in a climate of trying to sway the crowds instead of hear them. But regardless it should be better then politicians getting in and then ignoring who they represent.

Either way thanks for contributing the idea and highlighting the problem of population politics being ignored by the politicians. I don't have a suggestion for that, so I'd be willing to try anything else to make it better.

Hey Not_Now.Soon,

As part of my earlier media idea:

What I want to see added to my 'journalist rating system' which ensures reporters and journalists maintain a standard of ethics, factual, non-bias, without omission of facts etc.

Is some kind of online media platform:

For now, I'll call it 'Showdown'.
- Like Wild West duels -

An online platform which provides a place where people can challenge other people and their points of view to a 'Showdown' based on the arguments presented by their opposing points of view.

You could have all kinds of people on all kinds of topics challenge other peoples ideas and views.

- Truth, ethics and arguments that hold merit. -

You could have Progressives having showdowns with Conservatives

Globalists with Nationalists

People who support censorship against those who support free speech.

Almost every topic and issue imaginable could be represented, and the bigger picture view of all these issues could be examined in detail.

My other idea is 'Socialist Base level' jobs system to provide an opportunity to those that lose under capitalism.

Under capitalism (and merit) 2 people go for the one job.
'Merit' chooses the best candidate suitable for the job.
And the remaining job applicant gets nothing.
The losers of capitalism, are those who wish to help themselves, but have no opportunity to do so,
No opportunity to take part in the local community and economy.

Double dole for full time work doing things to help the government save money or build a better nation.
You pay people $250 a week on Newstart to do nothing.
Why not pay them $250 more and gain a full time worker?

My system creates 'the job you have when you don't have a job' and makes use of the 5% unemployment that capitalism needs to prevent wage growth, and gives people doing it tough the means to get back on top, or at the least - stay afloat during tough times.

I'll remove the need for many government programs (and $ spent) by previnting people from falling down in their lives in the first place.
