The Conservatives are tired of the Free Marketeers dominating the party and feel that they no longer represent what the Conservatives stand for. It's their belief that Conservative policies are truly in the publics best interest- however they are struggling to make themselves heard over the bitching between the two types of liberalism (Social vs Market- Labor vs Small L Liberals).
They feel that Australia is in a state from which it's becoming difficult to recover from due to "classic liberalist meddling" with the lives of private people- who just want to be left alone to raise their families the way they believe is right- like it has been done for thousands of years.
Their families are not a socialist experiment.
This is why the Conservatives feel that even if it costs the Liberal party elections- Australian Survival is more important than the survival of the Liberal Party.
After all without Australia- there is no Liberal or Conservative party anyway.
Liz Coleman on Ted says that no one has the answers to the problems of the world not the experts, the politicians, and it is the responsibility of everyone to assist. Experts have a highly focused domain that doesn't account for the cross domain nature of solutions and so cannot be relied upon to provide them.
