Paedophile African refugee who had sex with a 12-year-old girl and got her pregnant was allowed to stay in Australia for SEVEN YEARS - before being deported back to Africa

A paedophile refugee was allowed to stay in Australia for seven years after having his visa cancelled for having sex with a 12-year-old girl.

Thomas Scott Gbojueh, 50, who left the girl pregnant and in need of an abortion, was deported back to his native Liberia last week by Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton.

Gbojueh pleaded guilty to twice having sex with the underage girl, once less than four months after arriving in Australia in 2006, but was able to remain in the country.

The 12-year-old was the daughter of a woman Gbojueh was in a relationship with at the time, and later terminated the pregnancy.

A series of appeals lodged with the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and the Federal Court saw his visa reinstated several times since it was first cancelled in 2011.

Mr Dutton slammed the AAT, and said judicial system needs to be more consistent in deporting criminals with cancelled visas in a 'timely manner'.

'I think we need to have a reflection of community standards.

'We need to listen to the public because people aren't happy with a system where people escape the consequences of their criminal actions.'

Conservative Governments have been kowtowing to the US when it comes to foreign policy since WWII. That is evident by the way Australia has been dragged into the many wars at the direction of US militarism.

The orders for the deportation of these Russians whistle blowers would have come from Washington, as the Trump administration is well known as being very friendly to the Moscow regime of Vladimir Putin.

Dear Paul1405,

Yes that is what it smacks of unfortunately which is a real shame because we use to be better than that.

Small correction from me, it is his wife who faces deportation to Russia which is part of the reason why he came to Australia. He will likely be sent back to England as he is a British national.

Remember us standing up to Russian thuggery when Petrov's wife had to be rescued from the plane in Darwin?

We aren't the country we were that is for sure.

Dear Philip S,

Why have you brought up the issue of someone having their visa cancelled because they committed a crime? There is no indication either he or his wife have engaged in anything criminal here.

I fully agree the Baptist Mr Gbojueh should have been sent on his way and would have done if subsequent Ministers hadn't stuffed things up. This all needs to be done by the law and without the political rhetoric that oftenjeopardises these cases nowadays.

But still it is a total red herring.

Belly,

You said, "... after our filthy police informed on him".

Police is a collective noun and means all police, the adjective 'filthy' as you applied it, therefore, refers to all police.

Now be a good chap and unreservedly apologise.

BELLY as long as I've known you, I've always attempted to treat you with respect. For your information - I was a police officer for more than 32 years. I'm not sure what you mean with 'worked with the police.' I can't be any plainer than that - I apprised you of my vocation, the first time we made a connection on The Forum! Moreover, I tried to support you, when another individual drove you from here before you took an extended break as well Belly!

I don't understand precisely what it is you're trying to say about Roger ROGERSON. It's my understanding he's in the geriatric section of the Long Bay Gaol, Hospital. Once a brilliant detective, that went wrong. ROGERSON will no doubt die in custody. Yes, like all similar organisations there're a few bad apples in them. And the police force is no exception, Not unlike the men who worked on the road gangs for DMR back in the day. Theft of DMR property was endemic.

With respect, you infer something to the effect; my mind is drifting (or something) with old age. Indeed it is, that's why I no longer participate on The Forum or OLO as regularly as I once did. Look BELLY; I don't quite understand what you mean with many of the things you say now?

If I can be as sensitive and gentle as possible with you BELLY. In future, you might care to examine your syntax, your spelling, and punctuation. Much of what you write in your statements and remarks, is frankly, quite garbled and confusing for me. I'm uncertain of others herein? But as many have inferred over time, I'm not the sharpest knife in the draw.
