If we let these people jump the queue on so flimsy a reason as 'humanitarian grounds', it will set a precedent and we'll be expected to take in every Tom, Dick and Harry with a sob story about violent oppression. It might seem OK when it's just a handful of South Africans, but what about all the ethnic groups copping it even worse? Do we have room for all of them too?
