Hi Belly and Issy,
I've been having a bit of fun with me old sparring partner, Issy, who I quite like on the forum. At election time you get to meet a lot of odds and sods from all over the political spectrum, and I must say I've always got on well with those of the different persuasions. Not met many from the Shooters Party, probably because they are all in camouflage and are difficult to spot. I did wounder why that bush was handing out HTV's for the Shooters and Hooters last election, now I know it was a party member in his Rambo outfit (camouflage). I bet Issy sticks the odd sprig of Wattle in the hat when he's out hunting, so the Koalas can't spot him. Being serious, the Shooters Party policy on 4X4 in National Parks is totally open door, anything goes as far as they are concerned. There shooting policy in parks is a little restricted, but only slightly. The incidences of these "Weekend Warriors" getting into parks and forests is increasing. The damage they a doing is substantial, they are a big danger to others, and the restoration work etc cost the taxpayer millions. Okay Issy, if its not a Jeep, what is your favourite vehicle for hooning in National Parks? A four wheel drive Goggomobil. Posted by Paul1405, Friday, 16 November 2018 5:43:28 AM

As I said Issy, the policy is open door, totally unrestricted, no consideration for the environment what so ever.
Quote from the Shooter and Hooters policy from your link. "We will fight for free access to all areas and facilities within National Parks and State Forests for four-wheel driving and camping, and assert the right of responsible four-wheel drivers to have permit free use of appropriate beaches for recreational purposes." FREE ACCESS TO ALL AREAS! A totally irresponsible and reckless policy. Do you not agree. Posted by Paul1405, Friday, 16 November 2018 6:48:29 AM

The beautiful and unspoiled rainforests attract tree changers who clear fell the scrub for houses so they can see it all . Tropical beach fronts become shopping getaways. If National parks can also become bog tracks without protected habitats then these too can be developers dream estates.

//You forgot the link,
http://www.shootersfishersandfarmers.org.au/nsw_4wding_and_camping// It's not a very good link, the information it contains is manifestly untrue. According to the Shooters, Looters & Pillagers: "NSW is home to some of the most diverse and appealing natural landscapes in the world, most of which is best explored by four-wheel drive and motorcycle vehicles." I'm willing to tentatively accept that first bit; I've not really done enough travelling outside NSW to be able to draw a reasonable comparison so I'll take their word for it. But as an experienced bushwalker and kayaker, I can attest idea that a 4WD is the best way to explore the countryside is nonsense. It may be the best way to explore the countryside that has 4WD tracks, but there are lot of amazing places that are only really accessible on foot. And of course all the waterways and lakes and stuff where you obviously can't take a 4WD unless it's amphibious. I also take exception to the following proposals: "We support amending ADR 13/00 to cover LED light bars and spotlights on roof racks and bull bars and will continue to oppose any legislation to restrict the use of bull bars." Bad idea: I was walking home from a mates place the other night along a fairly well used stretch of road, and was damn near blinded by an oncoming 4WD lit up like a Christmas tree, at a rough estimate, emitting more lumens than the Trinity test. Not safe at all, and if you need that much light to see where you're going on a streetlit road you probably shouldn't be driving at all. "We will support an increase to the speed limit on the Pacific Highway and Hume Highway where appropriate." The Pacific Highway is definitely not a 4WD track. This has nothing to do with recreational off-road driving, they just want to go faster. Sounds like the sort of thing hoons would be in favour of.... The greens, and you know I am not a fan, are and have been for a while the third force in our country's politics.
Irks me! to see them putting very good things before parliament, that we support and should have done first.
You out poll the association of big hat wearers we know a Nationals.
Individual has highlighted a truth, some hoons, should not be on the roads as a passenger in a bus
