Dear Belly,
I think it is rather that he has lost one and retained the other as he already had control of the Senate. Wrestling it off the Republicans was always going to be a big ask given that these seats were taken in the middle of Obama's run 6 years ago and some were always going to slide back. That is not to say the Democrats made the most of their opportunities. What has been delightful is how women candidates have featured so strongly in this election. I am rather looking forward to seeing those tax returns though. Ah good times. Posted by SteeleRedux, Wednesday, 7 November 2018 6:29:31 PM

If they get his tax indictment ready by 22 November , the President can pardon himself. In the National Thanksgiving Turkey Presentation a domestic turkey is pardoned .

SteelRedux yes it was impossible to take the senate, on these figures he may even get a second term.
IF he can survive honest investigation of his tax/family working in the white house/the current investigation in to Russian involvement. We both must confront a truth,America is a B Grade Movie, its voters akin to those who think WORLD CHAMPION WRESTLING is real. He has a target, he will blame *a deep state* that never existed, for any set back, and the hillbilly right will suck it up. Posted by Belly, Thursday, 8 November 2018 4:20:40 AM

More chuckle worthy news from fantasy Island [the white house] Trump sacks sessions and his attack on CNN is humorous, but telling too.

Oh this is quite joyous.
Trump's pick for the next US Ambassador for the UN is ... wait for it .... “President Donald Trump has nominated handbag designer Lana Marks to be the next US ambassador to South Africa. Marks, a Florida resident and member of Trump's exclusive Mar-a-Lago resort, according to a source familiar with the club, was born and raised in South Africa, where she attended the University of the Witwatersrand and the Institute of Personnel Management in Johannesburg, the White House said in a statement.” http://edition.cnn.com/2018/11/14/politics/trump-lana-marks-south-africa/index.html Oh good, the role is in safe and if anything over qualified hands then. More questions will be asked now he has as we both said, lost one but gained in the other.
He can ,and will, remove white house officials because he has control of the senate and can not be stopped confirming the replacements
He, in my view, will ramp up the conspiracy junk, blaming a deepstate /Democrat plot for the losses.
Yes we live in interesting times
