Issy, they are not biting today, all fished out it would seem. Maybe they all traded their rods for guns, and are now out trying to bag a koala. Sorry, they can't be doing that, they have shot all the koala's already.

Paul,
Trying to hijack another thread with your anti-gun, Greens inspired lunacy? Posted by Is Mise, Wednesday, 29 August 2018 5:34:46 AM

Issy, not much interest in this fishing expedition of yours. Everyone except Belly, must agree with the government, or don't care one way or the other. I haven't read your propaganda link from the fishingfutters but a good move by the government. The fishingfutters can go fish in the other 160,000,000 sq km of the Pacific Ocean. Now that's fair.

What the Government is doing, Paul, is pushing more people to support the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party.

Issy, judging by the general lack of interest in this topic, I suppose we'll just have to live with a massive increase in the vote for the Shooters, Hooters and Fishfutters Party. Yep, it should explode from 0.08% to 0.09%. You never know you might even crack the 3,000 mark at the ballot box.
BTW, with the micro support for the Shooters, you tacked on the Hooters, and now you're tack on the Fishfutters. Who's next, the Goggomobil drivers? Posted by Paul1405, Friday, 31 August 2018 11:41:09 AM

Issy, what happened to the Hooters, the 4WD people in your little fandangle of a political party. Did they drive off a cliff or something? As for farmers, are you trying to pinch them off the Nats, Barnyard wont be pleased.

In keeping with their proud tradition of representing those voters with niche hobbies, I believe their next move planned move is to become the Shooters, Farmers, Fishers and Falconers Party. After their ranks fail to swell appreciably with the inclusion of falconers, some bright spark will have the idea of making it an umbrella party to represent all the voters with an interest in blood sports, and they'll become the Shooters, Farmers, Fishers, Falconers, Cock-Fighters, Bull-Baiters, Stoat-Stompers and Weasel-Chokers Party. I believe once they get their numbers up they're hoping to legalise snuff films and gladiatorial combat. Posted by Toni Lavis, Friday, 31 August 2018 12:11:42 PM

Toni,
Don't you know that Falconry, an ancient means of hunting, is illegal in most of Australia? Posted by Is Mise, Friday, 31 August 2018 12:46:00 PM

//Don't you know that Falconry, an ancient means of hunting, is illegal in most of Australia?//
Yep, so are bull-baiting and snuff films. Although you're in luck, Is Mise, because it's still perfectly legal for you to choke your weasel (not literally, of course). Posted by Toni Lavis, Friday, 31 August 2018 1:34:09 PM

Toni,
If you knew then why did you mention it? Don't try and weasel out of your mistakes, we know that you are not infallible. Posted by Is Mise, Friday, 31 August 2018 1:37:33 PM

//If you knew then why did you mention it?//
Have I, at any point in this discussion, claimed that falconry was legal? No? Good. Then pipe down. Posted by Toni Lavis, Friday, 31 August 2018 1:57:07 PM

Toni,
"In keeping with their proud tradition of representing those voters with niche hobbies, I believe their next move planned move is to become the Shooters, Farmers, Fishers and Falconers Party." That statement implies that the originator thought that falconry was as legal as shooting, fishing and farming's don't try and weasel out. Posted by Is Mise, Saturday, 1 September 2018 8:46:29 AM

//That statement implies that the originator thought that falconry was as legal as shooting//
Well since I was the originator and I was already aware that falconry was illegal; no, no it does not. And by that logic, wouldn't I also have to have thought that cock-fighting, bull-baiting and stoat-stomping were as legal as shooting? Your argument is unsound; it's based on a false premise. Apparently you consider it inconceivable that anybody could possess such knowledge until you've delivered it to them, because we're all so dumb and you're much smarter than the rest of us. Would that be about right, Is Mise? But I do love the way you think you can convince me that you know what I know better than I know it if you keep repeating yourself. It's cute. Toni,
"//That statement implies that the originator thought that falconry was as legal as shooting// Well since I was the originator and I was already aware that falconry was illegal; no, no it does not." but it does, how are we to know that you were already aware? False premise, weasel out if you can. Posted by Is Mise, Saturday, 1 September 2018 10:07:41 AM

Hi Toni,
I was a keen falconer myself, I drove a falcon for about 10 years from 1966 until they made it illegal in 1976, the party poopers! Toni, whats is this nonsense about stoat-stomping being illegal. I'll have you know I am the Captain of the Australian Stoat-Stomping Team. We hope to compete at the World Championships in Uzbekistan in 2020. And with all modesty I say we are a very good chance of finishing in the top 100. There is a very strong team from Luxembourg, and the local lads are rather nifty stompers as well, but we employ our own unique Aussie stomp. Here is our team motivational dittie we used last year at the Aussie Champs held at Maroubra. Sing along if you can. Don't be fooled by the squeaky voice of Little (Stomper) Pattie, she is one mean stomper when she gets a stoat under foot, I have seen her in action, and its not a pretty sight, I can tell you, she shows no mercy to those pathetic stoats! She stomps heads, tails, guts, nothing is off limits to our girl Pattie! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiZMXLwJ-MU Posted by Paul1405, Saturday, 1 September 2018 10:30:49 AM

Whatever, Is Mise. This strikes me as entirely pointless discussion. Why don't you just use your awesome powers of legilimency and pluck the answer from my mind? Posted by Toni Lavis, Saturday, 1 September 2018 10:42:43 AM

Just to add, it was thanks to Little (stomper) Pattie's inspirational team song (I get chocked up every time I hear it) that our team was able to finish 27th of the 28 teams competing. Without Patties team song, we most likely would have finished last, losing the playoff for 27th place to the legless team from Albania, as it was we only defeated them 427 stomps to 426 after the regulation match play of 3 days of stoat stomping.

In my stoat-stomping heyday, we used to sing 'Weasel Stomping Day', a catchy little number with a tendency to get stuck in my head. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k76IGLi6jWI I know they're not the same animal, but close enough, right? Which reminds me of an old joke. How do you tell the difference between a stoat and weasel? Well, one is weaselly identified and the other is stoatally different. I'll see myself out. Toni,
"Why don't you just use your awesome powers of legilimency and pluck the answer from my mind?" I tried, believe me, but it's physically and psychically impossible to get something from nothing. Posted by Is Mise, Saturday, 1 September 2018 12:17:32 PM

Hi Toni,
Thanks for that, I needed it. Such a moving and heart felt rendition by the great "Weird Al" Yankovic of 'Weasel Stomping Day'. Listing to "Weird Al" reminds me of some of the greats of the music world, that famous tener or was he a fiver, you know the bloke, worked for Domino's Home Delivery, oh yeah! Pizzarotting, sung every time he dropped off a 'Meatlovers' crispy crust of course, when only the best will do. I must confess listing to "Weird Al" sensitive interpretation of 'Weasel Stomping Day' I was so overcome with emotion I cried half way through, I couldn't help myself, it was too much. Detailed maps of the proposed Sydney Marine Park are now available detailing numerous sanctuary zones at popular rec fishing locations.
At a glance, areas such as Chowder Bay, Bottle and Glass Point, Camp Cove, Spring Cove in Sydney Harbour will be locked up, while further South, vast areas of the Royal National Park, Cape Banks and key fishing areas off Port Kembla will be off limits to anglers.
The response from today’s announcement was overwhelmingly negative amongst Sydney-based fishers and many questions have been raised over the proposals.
