//Would it be smart to get rhinoplasty at 18?//

No.

Or at any other age for that matter. Your nose is the shape it is for a reason, and it's a remarkably daft idea to let somebody tinker with it in the name of vanity.

You do realise that surgery carries the risk of complications, right? Some people go to sleep under anaesthetic... and never wake up. Sometimes the anaesthesia doesn't work properly, and you're aware of what's happening but you can't move or scream to let them know while they're sawing through your facial bones. Sometimes surgical wounds get infected with superbugs and you have to get your pretty new nose amputated because it's gone gangrenous - although if you get a septic wound in the maxillofacial triangle of death, an unpleasant death is the more likely result.

Undergoing unnecessary surgery is right up in the list of brilliant ideas alongside sticking forks in toasters and attempting home dentistry. Don't be so bloody daft.

Sorry about one out right rude answer stay around we are not all that bad, if I could talk to my 18 year old self I would have much advise, but very little in common with him,see at your ages different things matter much more than they should, some who get plastic work done will find they do not like it,I would never even consider it, at any age, but, if you think you know it will improve your life? up to you it is your body and welcome hope we see more of you.

I agree with Runner:

Do you really think that you or your doctors can do a better job than God?

Had I been out dating on the "meat market" and found about your plastic surgeries, then I would have surely tick you off as vain and unattractive. Remaining natural is your greatest charm!

Dear j_brenner,

Noses (and ears too) are funny things, most of us simply don't notice them in/on other people. Actually, I've rarely met a nose that I didn't like even if I've noticed it. People are far more likely to look at your eyes or mouth and skip over the nose, unless it's a particularly beautiful nose.

Wait a bit, stick with what you've got, and if you think that your nose is a bit too big now, don't worry, you'll probably grow into it. A decent schnozz adds character, anyway.

Best wishes,

Joe

Some of the responses have been hilarious. God did it, for a reason?!!

Dear j_brenner9876, you go for it, with the right people, and don't listen to such rubbish. It's no different to getting your teeth straightened. Just don't let this be the start of a journey that leads you to this https://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lvx1zNTNpUI/TPSgSmvP-zI/AAAAAAAAA90/3L0fdF0nYok/s1600/Plastic+15.jpg
