Hi there! I have always wondered if it is already okay for an 18-year-old to try plastic surgery - a nose job in particular. Is 18 too young or does that age already qualify?
I have always found the shape of my nose to be too big for the rest of my face and the bump seems to be prominent. I would like to have it tweaked a bit just so that it doesn't ask too much attention that it already does at present.

I hope somebody can help me out on this.

WTF! Who cares. This is not 'New Idea'. A brain transplant might be what you need.

If you're really that concerned about your appearance -
ask for a referral from your GP to a good cosmetic
surgeon who will be able to tell you whether you should
have it done now or wait. This is something that you need
a professional to advise you on. You need to talk to someone
who's done this before - who specialises in this type of
surgery - who knows what they're doing. So if you're going
to have this done - have it done properly and well.

I'm all for improving one' looks - if you're miserable with
what you've got. But first seek the best advice possible.

Do your homework properly make sure you get a surgeon who has done the procedure successfully a number of times.

Talk to people who have had it done, doctor photos before and after can be faked and they will not show the photos of failed work.

If I were you I'd let things be for a few years. In time you may well appreciate the shape of your nose, and the little 'bump' that seem to concern you at the moment. Speaking of beauty and ladies; Barbara STREISAND has a somewhat pronounced nose, and she considered very beautiful as is Cher, another beautiful lady.

Besides, beauty really comes from the heart, it's not something that's capable of creating an image. A nice lady, that a man can talk with, and enjoy her company, and develop similar interests, these are the most important factors in any relationship - mutual respect, love and the desire to be with each other.

So for a few more short years, try to develop the inner beauty that you have in your heart, and don't worry too much about the current shape of your nose or the little bump that's an integral part of it. Who can tell, you might meet someone who likes your nose the way it is; The shape of your nose is often referred to, as the 'Roman' nose, so fashionable and desirous among the beauties of Italy, France, and Spain.
