Paul,

Racism is about race, nothing more. You said something about language “evolving’ earlier. Language doesn't change; it is by bastardised, generally by the uneducated, to suit their own purposes. 'Racist’ is one of the many words which are meaningless coming from the mouths of most people who use it as a form of abuse. I love to see it used because I know the person using it is a dill. Hearing it is more pleasurable than the smell of napalm in the morning. So, if you don't like my feelings about Muslims, you will need to call me a bigot; not that it will change my feelings about Muslims.

individual,

I dislike ( not hate) all Muslims, because they persist in believing in the words of a homicidal maniac. However, I am always pleasant to my dentist 's head-scarfed Muslim nurse. In my daily walks, I always look to speak to or smile at multiculturals, whose presence in Australia I disapprove of, because it's what I do. (most of them don't want look at me, but I always look to see if they do). All people are free to decide who they like and who they don't like.

ttbn,
Would be great if we as taxpayers had the same choice in deciding whom our money should not be wasted on..

individual,

Yes, it would be nice. Sadly, we are more likely to lose the ability to choose who we like, as well, rather than be given the chance to say how our money is spent by the rapacious Australian political class. LNP or Labor, we are being dudded more and more.

Turnbull, on $527,854 is the highest paid politician in the OECD - plus private income and fortune. A 100 grand more than Trump, despite the difference in population and economy between Australia and America.

WTF would be know what it's like for most Australians as he encourages horrendously 'alternative’ energy and gouging by foreign power companies.

When he spends our money like the madman he is, he is not giving us a thought.

Talking about words, and racism ...

Our language reflects our view of the world, and so
it is always changing. New words are being added all
the time as discoveries are made in medicine, science,
and technology. You can probably think of many examples
of this. Words for things no longer in use are dropped
from our everyday language.

In the same way, new words are used for sociological
changes (changes in the way society functions). For
example, words like "unisex" reflect our changed attitudes
to men and women. This word would have been meaningless
in past years when men and women were expected to dress
and act differently.

Compare the language of extracts from old books and reports
with the way we express ourselves today.

As for racism? Racism is the belief that one racial or ethnic
group is inferior to another and that the unequal
treatment is therefore justified. The characteristic feature
of racist ideologies is that they try to make social and
economic inequalities among racial and ethnic groups seem
"natural" or "right."

Although racism is found among different peoples in
societies all over the world, racism reached its most extreme
form during the course of this century in the rantings of
Adolf Hitler, a short dark man who believed that the tall,
blond, blue-eyed "Aryan" race was infinitely superior to
all others, destined to rule the world, and had to maintain its
racial purity.

In spite of the fact that there is no such thing as an "Aryan"
race, Hitler's theories fired Germany with a sense of
national identity - and led to concentration camps, gas
chambers, and a global war.

Ironically, the American forces that helped destroy Nazi
Germany fought Hitler with a racially segregated army, and
fed German prisoners of war in canteens where black American
soldiers were refused service.

Today, racist ideology is considered so desreputable that
few people or governments, whatever their private attitudes,
dare to openly endorse a racist attitude. Yet racism, often
subtle in form, is still commonplace in the modern world.

The very "private" Barnyard Joyce is flogging his sordid little story to channel 9 for $150,000, talk about cashing in. How much has this worthless fool cost the taxpayer already? If you said one million dollars you would still be way short of the mark. As a politician he's a buffoon, as a human being, well, you can draw your own conclusion. Then again you have to remember he is a member of the National Party after all.
