Will the new Deputy PM stand by his opinion of Climate Science?

In 2010, Michael McCormack, new Leader of the National Party and Deputy Prime Minister, said in his first speech to Parliament, referring to Climate Science, that it was “the nonsense we hear so often spoken by so many who base their views on mere assumptions of what might or might not happen”.

Since then, the 'science' has become even more threadbare, with nature refusing to do what was predicted. Nevertheless, the Turnbull government has barged ahead with the Paris Accord, intent on tossing more of our money to frauds, in what is “arguably the greatest ever economic betrayal of Australians by their government”. (The Spectator Australia 3/3/18).

If Malcolm Turnbull succeeds in reducing the Liberal Party to a small, minor party – which seems to be his intent – there could be a chance for a much more conservative National Party to take control. George Christensen has expressed dissatisfaction with the Coalition, and who knows what could happen, sans Barnaby Joyce, who was a faithful lap dog to Turnbull. A future coalition with Australian Conservatives, perhaps. Anything that would deliver us from the dysfunctional, lefty thing that the Liberal Party has become.

Just what this country needs, a bunch of conservative hayseeds running the show. I thought Barnyard was a big enough fool, then you mentioned Gorgeous George and then I realized there is an even bigger jerk in parliament than the Bonking Barney. And you want them to run the country? Please no never!

Not likely, given that there are lot more urban electorates then country electorates, and they don't vote National. There are lot of urban electorates where the Nationals don't even bother to put up a candidate, which significantly reduces their chances of electoral success.

It would be a pretty small coalition. I think you're rather over-estimating the likely electoral success of Cory's Tories.

The ABC director of the two party preferred regime news should know which road Australian politics is taking.

Climate nonsense ? Then how do you explain why the temperature at the North Pole is currently fifty degrees above average, getting into the balmy plus-twenties and thirties ? In the depths of the northern winter ?

And that explains the current blizzard-like conditions over Europe ? Extreme cold in Europe means extreme heat somewhere else. So obvious !

Nonsense indeed !

The Arctic temperatures are still below freezing, Joe, and the bears are actually thriving. However, the 'nonsense' is not about climate change, it's about the made-up cause of climate change; it ain't us, but nature. People like me are called climate change 'deniers' because people can't think of a snappy, short description for people who who have noticed the obvious change in climate, but who do not accept the rent-seeker's idiotic claim that it's our fault and there's something we can do about it. They are too busy to think, intent as they are on extracting as much money from us as they can, with idiots in the Green/Liberal/Labor cabal obliging them.
