According to Elizabeth Farrelly she says: "If I had one wish for Australia it'd be this. Ban private schools."

One can read all of her arguments on the link to see her positions on the topic. Most of her reasons for non-existence of private schools in my view are poor and over generalising.

Figures from a website survey show that 67.85% of people state that people should have the option to send a child to a private school in Australia, 29.23% of people stated there should only be public schools and 2.92% were unsure.

To impose educational values onto others in 2017 for myself is simply wrong. Education should not be politicised.

Dear Nathan,

I can't imagine private schools ever being banned.
Parents usually want what's best for their children
and many parents choose a private school for a variety
of reasons. Firstly, many private schools are religious.
And parents who feel that religion should play a part in
their child's education prefer to send their children
to a private school. Private schools are also usually
smaller in class size and have better quality materials
and school equipment, they also have more of a one-on-one
interaction with teachers, giving their child more
personalised attention. And many parents are prepared to
pay the high costs associated with private schools to
give what they feel is a better start in life to their
child.

Public schools on the other hand have served millions of
Australians over the years. The classrooms do tend to be
larger but there are more chances for children to
make friends and befriend children from all walks of life
which some parents feel has a marked impact (and an
important one) on their child's perspective.

We started out sending our children to private schools.
However, problems arose and we noticed the wrong sort of
attitudes that began to develop and became concerned.
We ended up taking them out of the private schools after
a major crisis. It was the best decision we ever made.
Our children thrived at the excellent public school of our
choice, ended up as university graduates with very successful
careers. It wasn't a decision we ever regretted.

However, parents will always want the choice of where to
send their children. And for that reason I really can't see
them agreeing to having that choice taken from them. Therefore
I really don't see the banning of private schools ever
happening in this country.

Choice of school depends heavily on where you live. Whilst living in Darwin, with two grandchildren in my care, I lived in one of the lowest socioeconomic areas and the schools reflected the demographic. Constant unruly behaviour in the classes, a lot of bullying, bad language and lack of respect for authority. Wagging classes was a right of passage in the secondary school.
On the other hand, in that area we had three very small but relatively inexpensive Independant schools run by Christian groups and they were excellent. They actually had less facilities and money per child but managed better academic outcomes for the kids and were willing to take those kids who didn't fit into the public school system, ie, the autistic, dyslexic and others with learning problems.
None of the parents were wealthy, they were just ordinary working couples who made great personal sacrifices, including monthly voluntary work at the school, to ensure their kids got the best education they could.

The woman is a Left wing lunatic, hence the rabid raving. Private schools are the the only thing stopping ALL Australian children from being brainwashed into insensibility. We need more private schools, particularly the low cost ones so that parents have the opportunity to protect their children from Marxism.

If people are to dumb to see the total failure of secular schools especially since the feminist took over then we will continue to drop down the scale in every aspect of education.
