Daily Telegraph editorial, 13/12/17:

“ASIO has reportedly identified about 10 political candidates for state and local elections who it believes have close ties to Chinese intelligence services, which it assesses are pursuing an orchestrated campaign to place agents of influence in Australian parliaments.”

The title to this thread should have been should have been 'Chinese “influence'”, but I apparently deleted the second word accidentally. The comments in no way relate to Chinese people. They are aimed at China itself, and its Communist, totalitarian government.

China is no friend of Australia's, and it is embarrassing and disgusting that we have anything to do with such a government, particularly with all the bullshite we talk about human rights – something that is non-existent in the Peoples' Republic.

Even more embarrassing and disgusting is the indication from ASIO that we have at least 10 political scumbags in our parliament who have some relationship with the Communists in a foreign country. On the scale of things rotten, how does that compare with the controversy over dual citizenship?

In a country where homosexuality and fake marriage between same sex people rates so highly, it is probably not very important at all.

However, if people do wish discuss the presence of Chinese people in Australia, there is the ABC's headline about the 'Chinese factor in Bennelong',suggesting that Chinese Australians are different from other Australians. The media were 'sure' that it was the Chinese Australians who booted out John Howard from that seat.

For a group always blathering on about 'racism', the ABC is a great one for emphasising the differences in Australian society. Their view of multiculturalism is certainly of the divide and rule kind.

A point of interest: the Chinese-language press in Australia has apparently kept out of the current discussion on China trying to influence our politicians.

Two abusive gangs are facing each other - "Australia" and "China".

The former now wants to deprive Christians of their religious freedoms, such as the sanctity of the confession. The latter already does so for decades.

Why should the one be preferred over the other?

- perhaps because the other is even worse and more totalitarian, but for how much longer?

In the Vietnam elections of 1965-1975 the corrupt South was outvoted by the populist North. US napalm influence on women and children , a democratic and Christian abuse, made the Great US a terror again until Communist Vietnam became its ally against capitalist China. Australian bombers had a relationship with US bombers paying $218 mill and losing votes in Vietnam and Australia. US takeover of Hawaii interferes with China's takeover of south China sea but the Gov Gen defeated Gough Whitlam 1975 in the final strike by the British empire.
