Turnbull Ticks Off China

Turnbull has got something right at last! He is standing up to communist China, calling them out for their spying, bullying and attempts to interfere with our sovereignty. And, he has told them in Mandarin. The totalitarian Chinese have of course accused Turnbull of 'poisoning' the relationship. We don't have any civilised relationship with communism – just trade. It is totally ridiculous to think that a democratic country can have a human relationship with a communist country, where the leadership 'removes' any opposition to it.

I must agree with you, Ttbn. Turnbull has uncharacteristically done a good thing, for which he ought to be commended.

I disagree with this false concept of national sovereignty, including the Australian variety. Nevertheless, I rather have the Australian variety over the Communist Chinese variety!

Yuyutsu,

I don't know what you mean by a 'false concept' of national sovereignty. Glad to see someone agrees with me on something, though. A rare event these days.

Dear Ttbn,

What I mean is, that YOU as an individual ought to be sovereign over your own land - not a nation. You may of course, if so you wish, delegate that sovereignty of yours to any group of people as you choose, big or small, but it must be done voluntarily - and this never happened in the case of Australia or of China or of any other country that I'm aware of.

Nevertheless, while the illegitimate "nation of Australia" has its moments of cruelty, these are nothing compared with the atrocities of the illegitimate "nation of China", thus I support the former over the latter. Hopefully in an enlightened future we will have no compulsory groupings of people whatsoever.

There are 1/5 of world's sovereigns in China. 'The current world population is 7.6 billion as of December 2017'. Single child families there have "little emperors" . As you can rule some people some of the time but not all of them all the time then any grouping will not succeed . But the tax rate is attractive when you're treasurer.
