It is good to see that GetUp! is the being investigated by the AEC at least.

Shadow, does your Murdoch gutter press fall under the same umbrella? If not why not. Millions of dollar worth of free campaigning for the Coalition, and nothing ever said.
Just as this troubled government used the AFP as a political tool to try and smear Labor leader Shorten, with a fake raid on the offices of the AWU. The shots being called from the taxpayer funded bunker of Liberal Minister Michaelia Cash. Now they are trying to use the AEC as some kind of attack dog to get at Labor and the Greens through the activists organization GetUp. Given the Coalitions track record on human rights and social justice when in government I would expect GetUp to favor political parties and politicians who are like minded with their aims and ambitions. Just as Murdoch with his hard right politics uses his media empire to push biased conservative propaganda, GetUp can be seen as favoring the progressive side of politics. End of story. The AEC is simply doing what it is charged to do.
GetUp! has its begging bowl out for public donations. It should as part of its due diligence be welcoming the AEC's check for its own assurance and that of public who are being asked to donate to its campaigns. Posted by leoj, Wednesday, 1 November 2017 8:51:10 AM

Paul,
What bollocks. Obviously, either you have the IQ of a squirrel and don't understand the definition of campaign, or dishonesty is a core feature of Gangrenes. Newscorp does not campaign for anyone any more than Fairfax, the ABC and the Guardian campaign for Labor and the gangrenes, whereas GetUp! actively campaigns both for Labor and the gangrenes and against the coalition. The AEC is an independent organisation whose virtue the left whingers commend until they disagree. Posted by Shadow Minister, Wednesday, 1 November 2017 12:19:17 PM

Perhaps they might also ask Gun Control Australia for a little disclosure?

One does not need to investigate getup to see that by and large they are a very large dumbed down set of kids who have never been spanked in their life and now want to preach and enforce their dogmas on everyone else. Of course they are anti coal, pro renewables and major backers of perverting the marriage act. This alone makes them best friends with the abc.

Shadow, you make a habit of getting it wrong. Do you still claim that the Liberal and Nation Parties so strenuously vet prospective candidates that there would be no possibility that their members could ever do a Greens and fail to disclose their citizenship correctly , hardy ha ha! National Party leader Barnyard was booted by the High Court, and the dopey Liberal Senate President Stephen Parry, who has been hiding under a rock trying to avoid detection, has been found to be a Pom and forced to resign. Maybe you have been dumb downed on this subject by all that biased reading of the Murdoch gutter press you do.
Example of a quote from a poor mislead individual; "Newscorp does not campaign for anyone". Posted by Paul1405, Wednesday, 1 November 2017 6:23:32 PM

Donations need to be properly authorised.
Transparency is key. There should not be different treatments for anyone. But of course in politics we know that is not going to be the case. Tax scams, money laundering will continue. And finger-pointing and police-involvement will always be a useful tool especially if it can cause embarrassment for the opposition and diversion from the government's problems. Most unfortunate, here in NSW we had a conga line of corrupt Liberals taking illegal backhander donations from property developers. Their corruption was exposed by the ICAC.
With the Liberal Party in government, in Sydney don't leave home in the morning, because when you return in the afternoon, your house will be gone, and some developer will have knocked up a block of flats in its place, all with the Liberal Governments approval of course! GetUp! is definitely a Leftist political organisation, supporting Left wing policies only. It was kicked off with $50k from Unions NSW,and Shorten's old union came up with $100k. The Coalition has moved so far to the left that GetUp! should start supporting it anytime now, although Pyne evidently did not bung them sufficient money to help him to get Turnbull the leadership in 2009.

Other than Paul's repeated lie that the libs acted corruptly, (ICAC ruled that their behaviour was not corrupt), he's raised a good point.
The one thing that ICAC ruled illegal was the company that was set up to receive donations from proscribed donors. That GetUp! is essentially doing exactly the same just shows the rank hypocrisy of Labor and the gangreens. Now that GetUp is registered as an associated organisation, their collection of illegal donations will have to stop, and their donations will need to be declared in the same way that other political donation are. Rumour has it that a conservative version of GetUp! is in formation. When I say 'rumor', I did read it in the popular press, but reporting is not much different from rumour these days.

George Soros is a terrorist.
I want to explain why I think this is a true statement, and if anyone thinks I'm wrong or thinks different then I sincerely hope they make their argument and try to prove me wrong. If they don't or can't, then I'll just assume I'm right. http://www.infowars.com/full-page-ny-times-ad-demands-antifa-revolution-to-overthrow-trump/ Here's the article: Scroll down to the image to see the full page ad; Quote - THIS NIGHTMARE MUST END THE TRUMP/PENCE REGIME MUST GO NOV 4 IT BEGINS Be There. Join With The Thousands Who Will Gather In Cities And Town Across The Country A Movement Of Protests That Continue Every Day And Night Growing Until We Become Millions Determined Not To Stop Until This Regime Is Removed From Power Ok in their own words they're gathering 'with the purpose of driving this regime from power'. They aren't saying 'We need to vote this current elected president out at the next election' using 'the battle of ideas to win the hearts and minds of the people'. So, they have no respect for the democratic rule of law: -evidenced in the statement 'Drive this regime from power'. - They don't respect will of the voting public. The word 'Drive' in the absence of 'Voting Trump/Pence out' is reasonable construed as pertaining to using violence / property damage / civil unrest. Terrorism: The unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims. http://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/terrorism So in my opinion George Soros is a terrorist, and anyone who donates to his causes is funding terrorism. So far as I can see, the only thing the right is upset about is that an AFP operation became public knowledge.
Why aren't *all* AFP raids covered by the media? Posted by Rusty Catheter, Friday, 3 November 2017 5:08:05 PM

Getup's values are quite different from most of the workers in the AWU. It is commonly suspected, but not proven that this raid was engineered for political purposes. If so, it has highlighted the amount of money that should be used to get better conditions for workers, but is instead is diverted to the land rights for gay whales brigade. The workers won't be happy.

It is good to see all the bedwetting left whingers out in force to protect the illegal money laundering scheme dreamt up by the corrupt unions, labor and the gangreens.

"Activist group GetUp! has engaged a leading barrister after defying a warning from the Australian Electoral Commission to lodge a disclosure return as an “associated entity” of Labor and the Greens, and confirmed it was advised by the AEC in June that failure to provide disclosure by October 20 could be deemed as a “serious criminal offence”.
A GetUp! spokesman yesterday said that on June 29, the AEC “encouraged” GetUp! to disclose as an “associated entity” to avoid being pursued for a criminal offence, and confirmed it had refused to comply with the advice to make the declaration.
Independent Tasmanian MP Andrew Wilkie, who describes himself as a supporter of GetUp!, yesterday argued the group had “become a political organisation” and warned it not to flout the findings of the AEC.
“GetUp! can’t have it both ways,” Mr Wilkie told ABC radio. “They can’t on one hand campaign for better governance, better public policy, they can’t campaign for political candidates, they can’t campaign for an end to political donations but then say they are different and they shouldn’t be covered by any reform.”
