This weekend our political class is gathering in Brisbane to solve the
problem with our electrical system.
I doubt they have the mental capacity to understand what the experts
they will have with them are putting to them.
Their decisions will be based on political realities.

Here are a few realities you can check for yourself.

It shows in the several months that I have watched it that NSW & Vic
NEVER generate more or equal electricity than their demand.
They are totally reliant on the excess generated in Queensland.
It might be because Queensland electricity is cheaper, it may not be.
Sth Aust feed into Victoria most of the time but the amounts are small.
It is a warning of rolling blackouts to come.

I suspect that what we are seeing on this site is a straight statement
"We told you so !".

What a load of frogswabble. Bazz i do not know how you can sleep at night with that going on in your head. No one will generate any more electricity than is needed. They know how much power is needed tomorrow or months in advance. The power needed for tomorrow will be much the same as it was on this day last year.
Rolling black outs, now that is a statement to be reckoned with, scaremongering is the word, if power is a problem climate change is to blame. Dear soles like trump and all of the far right radicals want to bring the world down peak oil peak coal peak electricity.

If energy had not been privatised as per the scripture of Thatcher/Reagan, and was still owned and operated by a federal government body, it would be a standard price and not subject to manipulation to gain the most profit.

I read somewhere that in WA power prices are to be raised largely to collect tax to pay down state debt.

Lab gov't don't charge the cost of production but uses state monopolies to tax the populace while feather-bedding the unions involved.

The disgusting Peter Beattie was extracting a quarter of a billion dollars a year in extra "special dividends" from the government owned power generation company. He needed this to pay off favours.

This ran down the infrastructure so much that a near billion had to be spent on polls & wires when Labor got the chop.

It is the problem of power supply vs. reduced carbon dioxide output. Labor and Greens have decided politically to go the renewable way with gas backup. However if you examine June 2017 wind output for Eastern Australia (AEMO)wind worked at less than 20% on average, often at less than 10%. South Australia on any measure needed imports of electrical energy derived from, 'dirty' coal from Victoria, gas or during the day variable amounts of solar. No excess to recharge any batteries here. No one ever mentions the inherent CO2 in natural gas fields, vented at the first process point and NOT included in our CO2 emissions. So it boils down to whether we want an unreliable renewable supply or polluting base load. Of course we are far too clever in Australia to think Nuclear. We are the only OEDC country forbidding it. It is all stupid really and eventually it will dawn on us all that we have been completely conned but Labor & Greens who will have moved on to better things to destroy Australia.
