That's just it Toni, we can't all be peaceful, not while we have a religio-political system such as Islam in our midst.
The "Religion of Peace" won't allow peace except on its terms.

Well my first thought was sarcasm.

I'll stop murdering and kidnapping people, stop bombing people and public places, stop abusing friends and family on facebook etc. I'll stop cold calling people just for the fun of harassing them in their own homes, I'll stop my involvement in domestic violence and victimisation of women and children, mistreating pets and victimising minorities and the elderly on the streets and my support for violent religious extremism.

I'm prepared to do all of these things for you NathanJ, but only for today ok, because tomorrow I'm going to have to go back to my evil compulsive ways...

Congratulations, you've changed the world.

Of course I don't actually do any of those damn things in the first place...

UN blah, blah, blah.
Sorry Nathan it just smells like BS to me; but trust me to be suspicious of everything.
It seems like its a 'token gesture' to proclaim 'We're good people', when in truth, war is the norm the other 364 days a year.

If you want a peace movement, start one and support it the whole damn year.
Why do you think they were so scared of John Lennon?
This is just a controlled narrative that claims 'we're good people'.

- At a time when we just bombed and killed 80 foreign Syrian Repulican Guard troops with white phosphorous.
Sorry for ruining the party, I know you all mean well.

I don't cause the world problems in the first place but I'll try to do something nice ok, something 'positive to create peace on the planet', as you so kindly indicated you'd like me to do.

There - you really did change the world.
Happy now?

"Let's set the record straight. There is no argument over the choice between peace and war, but there is only one guaranteed way you can have peace--and you can have it in the next second--surrender."

R. Reagan during the great "Time for Choosing" Speech 1964.

We all want peace. The issue is what we are prepared to give up to get it.

The next paragraph in that speech:
"Admittedly, there's a risk in any course we follow other than this, but every lesson of history tells us that the greater risk lies in appeasement, and this is the specter our well-meaning liberal friends refuse to face—that their policy of accommodation is appeasement, and it gives no choice between peace and war, only between fight or surrender. If we continue to accommodate, continue to back and retreat, eventually we have to face the final demand—the ultimatum. And what then—when Nikita Khrushchev has told his people he knows what our answer will be? He has told them that we're retreating under the pressure of the Cold War, and someday when the time comes to deliver the final ultimatum, our surrender will be voluntary, because by that time we will have been weakened from within spiritually, morally, and economically. He believes this because from our side he's heard voices pleading for "peace at any price" or "better Red than dead," or as one commentator put it, he'd rather "live on his knees than die on his feet." And therein lies the road to war, because those voices don't speak for the rest of us."

I suspect the China politburo has made the same estimation of the democracies.

Swedish example of peacefully capitulating to a 'peaceful'(sic) invasion,

<‘Swedes Must Integrate With Migrants’ Says Government-Backed Multicultural Propaganda
19 Sep 2016

A charity backed by the Swedish government has launched a campaign denouncing the assimilation of migrants and telling natives to “integrate” with foreign “cultures and languages”.

“It’s time to realise the new Swedes will claim their space” an ad insists, describing the Nordic nation as a “safe space” for migrants and concluding: “There is no way back. Sweden will never be like it was.”

The campaign is called “The New Country” with a website appearing alongside the film, arguing that residents should adopt foreign “cultures” and “languages”, rather than expect new arrivals to become Swedish.

The charity behind it is Individuell Människohjälp (IM), which translates as Individual Relief. However, they go by the English name ‘Swedish Development Partner’ and say they are dedicated to “fighting and exposing poverty and exclusion”.

IM is an official member of the government-backed Swedish Fundraising Council (SFC) and Swedish news source Fria Tider claims that it is a recipient of taxpayer’s money.>

Swedish feminists, they refer to themselves as 'Hens', their gender neutral choice, are furiously adopting Hijabs in solidarity. Maybe not such a bad idea to hide the squirrel armpits and leg re-growth that would put Blackberry weed thickets to shame.

Re, Swedish feminists adopting Hijabs in solidarity.

Leftists wouldn't see that as non-PC and therefore despised, cultural (mis)appropriation now would they?

It must be getting very complicated for the Leftist 'Progressives'(regressives) - who wouldn't recognise real Left if there was a large DMR road sign, neon-lit, showing them the way.

Hi there ONTHEBEACH...

What evocative words you've quoted from; Messrs MACARTHUR, KENNEDY and CHURCHILL. All of whom were great leaders in their day.
