Dear Suse,
Thank You for your well reasoned and intelligent comments. Michael Bradley writing for The Drum tells us that: "It's obviously perplexing because Pauline Hanson has always had visible difficulty with her debating skills. She comes across as not very bright, perpetually very angry and confused, a person who struggles to articulate how she feels about the world beyond saying "I don't like it." "... What she says is frequently reprehensible. She can appropriately be criticised and called to account for the offence and hurt she causes by her repetitive and irrational attacks on everyone and everything she perceives from her extremely limited frame of understanding to be not representative of the "real Australians" her nostalgically imagined tribe." Thanks for that Foxy. That writer certainly says it far more eloquently than me :)
Sometimes I do despair that we seem to have an OLO full of Hansen-type people, and I get sick of trying to explain myself. I have come to believe now that if I said the sky was blue on a fine day, they would all say it was green! The bottom line is that only 4% of the population voted for One Nation, so that is hardly the 'general population' or 'most people' or 'battlers' or 'salt of the earth' or whatever other word is used to describe the 'average Australian' that is supposed to agree with everything Hansen spits out. I know that the bulk of Australian voters did not vote for her or the other fringe-dwelling parties up for election this time, so I have faith that common sense will continue to prevail in our great multicultural country . Suse,
You suggest that One nation does not have 'proper policies' Well here you go a list of their 'proper policies' http://www.onenation.com.au/policies Some constructive reading for you and Foxy. You may be surprised as to their extent and common sense. If the current Queensland Premier is not scared of One Nation at the next state election she should be. Pauline has let slip that she intends to have candidates in every state seat. Remember that the current government cannot afford to lose one seat. The current opposition should now approach Pauline about preference swap. If nothing else, you have to admit that Pauline has dedication and tenacity. I do hope my minor contributions here have helped Pauline. Of course I voted for ON candidates. We need more politicians like her. Posted by Banjo, Thursday, 7 July 2016 8:16:26 PM

Dear Suse,
You're right - only a small minority voted for Pauline Hanson. Which simply goes to show that her voice is not needed because to the rest of Australia she doesn't have anything meaningful to say. We don't see the world or this country of ours as a place of unending threat and we don't believe that the whole establishment is ranged against us. Posted by Foxy, Thursday, 7 July 2016 10:15:58 PM

Foxy, the Drum ! Really !
Yes it is starting again, she is not very bright; she cannot debate; etc etc etc. More put down, you are following the path trod by the main political parties. I am embarrassed for you that you would be so petty. She may not have had the educational advantages of yourself but she does have the guts to have a go despite knowing her own disadvantage. Of course she is not on here own now but I have no idea how many helpers that she has and you have no idea of their knowledge or abilities. For me, I will just watch and listen and wish her good luck. Posted by Bazz, Thursday, 7 July 2016 10:39:54 PM

"Hansen will cause far more trouble amongst our generally peaceful multicultural country population with her racist inflammatory comments than any other person if she isn't told to keep her trap shut unless she has some proper policies to discuss"
Not as much as Muhammad and he's not even in Queensland.
