Just checking to see if my computer is still
working.
It appears to be.

Dear Bazz,

It's good news to learn that Belly is well.
I wish that he'd come back to the forum.
He's sorely missed.
Please ask your friend to pass on my good
wishes to him.
He's left a huge gap by leaving.
We could use a few more gentlemen like him
around here. He never had a mean thing to
say about anyone, that I can recall.

Hi FOXY...

Delighted to hear that you're OK, and a piece of advice apropos troublesome computers, throw the jolly thing from the highest window, and that usually does the trick!

I'm indeed very sorry to hear that your Mum has been admitted to a nursing home due to her worsening dementia, a tough decision for anyone to make under any circumstances.

Take good care of yourself FOXY please.

Dear O Sung Wu,

Thank You.

You have a God-Given talent for cheering up everyone
of us on this forum.

As far as my mother is concerned - it was difficult
especially for my husband who moved my mum from
one facility to the other. arranging which of her
belongings to keep, and what to do with the rest.
And so on. I count my blessings as far as he's
concerned. Many men might have refused to put up with
what he willingly did. It wasn't easy - but he
supported me throughout both my fall, and all the
rest. I am very blessed.

I am also very lucky to have found such wonderful
people on the forum as yourself ( and so many others).
Sure we may not agree with a lot - especially
politics. However, I have to admit that even when
we disagree - I have learned (and am still learning
a great deal ). I don't always admit it.
But my views are not set in concrete and people do
influence me on this forum. Especially wise sages
like David F., who I respect greatly, and of course
so many others. I am so grateful for this forum
and for all of you.

Once again - Thank You!

Hi (again) FOXY...

I couldn't agree with you more. I believe everyone who consents to give us his or her opinion on any given topic, should be respected whether one agrees with their particular position or not. I learnt years ago, there are always three sides to any story; mine, theirs and the truth? To think otherwise is indeed a folly. Take care FOXY, and your husband sounds like he's one very exceptional gentleman!

Hi Foxy, welcome back : )
I am glad your health is improving.
Your husband does sound like a treasure!

Mine is no slouch either I might add. My mum has moved to our town to live in an independent aged care unit and is very happy. My husband visits her regularly, does her home maintenance and drives her to Perth as needed, if she wants to see her other family.
We are lucky with our old boys I think...

Cheers,
Suse.

o sung wu,
Interesting one for u.
Up here where I live an A/C ran over and killed a bloke sleeping in the driveway of the Watchouse.
He is a well known soak, that is the A/C.
All sorts of new rules and regs out now for the area.
I happened to be making a U Turn very close to the blood patch when a female det
(badge on belt all shiny a new)suggested I was DUI and pulled a returning GD car
up to breath test me. Neg result but wait I could be a drug user, Second test for drugs.
By now the crowd had gathered to watch the pantomime. Test neg again.
The station commander came out to see what the fuss was all about, we knew each other very well
and he asked the det what was going on and she replied that she had "reasonable suspicion"
that I was driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
When he asked her to define her "reasonable suspicion" she said
"He's got bloodshot eyes"
Modern policing I suppose.
