Oh dear, Foxy has gone missing again. I do hope she has not had a relapse in the healing of her injury.

Hi Hasbeen, I hope Foxy is ok too.
Maybe she is just taking another break from OLO after some of the bullying/trolling she received in replies to her posts by some of our resident bullies?

Hasbeen and Suse.....Foxy has been a contributor to this form since 2007. I do not believe the harsh posts phase her one iota. She responds and replies as she sees fit. If she tires of a poster, such as myself, she tells me she has had enough and informs me that she will no longer reply to any diatribe I may send her way. I too hope that she has no recurring medical issues; rather she has other things in her life.

Talking of past contributors, I hope Belly is happy and well.

Yes, I miss Foxy, I hope she is okay. We need her steadying hand.

As for bullying, Suse, with the greatest respect possible, you're a bit of a dab hand at that, if I may say :) Disagreement is not bullying, but slagging comes close. I look forward to the day when you can tell the difference.

Get well, Foxy !

Love,

Joe

What pathetic drivel. Foxy is needed like a hole in the head - luring fools into her "what do you think" webs so that she can disagree with what you say and display her 'superior' emotions and 'fine' feelings. The woman is a menace.

Hi there TTBN...

Whatever FOXY does or doesn't do, she's an integral part of this Forum and one that I value immeasurably! Though I don't share her political proclivities, I value her as a person, just like I value everyone else who seeks to articulate their opinions on the Forum.

OSW,

That's fine. I have ignored the person for some time, and that works for me. What other people think is up to them. Her running mate, suseonline, had the gall to suggest that she was run off by "bullies". Ill-informed people seem to think that bullies are all noise. Not so. Foxy is a very adept bully, in a quiet, mealy mouthed way: she advises other posters whose opinions she doesn't like that they will be 'ignored' if they maintain their errant ways. Ironically, I have ignored her posts because I don't like her holier than thou attitude and and her thinking that she is right, and that's that. I wouldn't have said word about her or her absence had I not seen the sickening and sycophantic wailings of the usual suspects. I am surprised that you, too, have have taken up the cudgel on her behalf.

Dear ttbn,

Everyone who posts including you is a part of our online community. We have many different ideas, and we are many different people. Graham Young delists those whose attacks on other posters become too outrageous. Voltaire probably didn't say, "I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." It seems a good motto for olo.

Thank You everyone (especially dear Hassie) for again
expressing your concern for me and for your kind
words.

I'm all right. It's not my health that caused
my absence currently. It's my computer.

I kept having problems. I would receive the
message that I was not connected to the internet.
That my internet connection was down. It drove my
patience for days. What I didn't get was that the
computer would come up for a few minutes and I would
type up a post, then the red lights would come on
and I'd get the same message again( that I was not
connected to the internet). And the frustrating thing
was that I could not send my posts.

Finally today, I called in a technician to see if
the problem could be fixed. Fingers crossed that it
has been. The technician claims it was my moden.
I hope that it stays fixed as I do enjoy most
of the inter-actions on OLO.

Also, to make matters difficult - during this time
we had to deal with putting my mum into a nursing
home. Her dementia had deteriorated to the point
where she needed 24/7 care. Her current aged- care facility
was not able to provide her with what she needed.

It was very hard for her having to be moved from a
facility that she was used to and where she knew
the staff. However, the
new place is excellent, (run by BUPA), the staff are very experienced
and caring. Hopefully mum will eventually settle in.
I shall be working there as a volunteer to make the
transition easier for her.

My health is coming along slowly. I'm doing well.
What with weekly physio and daily exercises, I am
making progress.

I appreciate all your well wishes and concern. It's
good to have such compassionate and caring people on
the forum.

In case my computer stuffs up again - I'd like to wish
you and yours, a lovely Easter break.
And once again - Thanks to you all for your kindness.

All The Best.

Hi FOXY...

Delighted to hear that you're OK, and a piece of advice apropos troublesome computers, throw the jolly thing from the highest window, and that usually does the trick!

I'm indeed very sorry to hear that your Mum has been admitted to a nursing home due to her worsening dementia, a tough decision for anyone to make under any circumstances.

Take good care of yourself FOXY please.

Dear O Sung Wu,

Thank You.

You have a God-Given talent for cheering up everyone
of us on this forum.

As far as my mother is concerned - it was difficult
especially for my husband who moved my mum from
one facility to the other. arranging which of her
belongings to keep, and what to do with the rest.
And so on. I count my blessings as far as he's
concerned. Many men might have refused to put up with
what he willingly did. It wasn't easy - but he
supported me throughout both my fall, and all the
rest. I am very blessed.

I am also very lucky to have found such wonderful
people on the forum as yourself ( and so many others).
Sure we may not agree with a lot - especially
politics. However, I have to admit that even when
we disagree - I have learned (and am still learning
a great deal ). I don't always admit it.
But my views are not set in concrete and people do
influence me on this forum. Especially wise sages
like David F., who I respect greatly, and of course
so many others. I am so grateful for this forum
and for all of you.

Once again - Thank You!

Hi (again) FOXY...

I couldn't agree with you more. I believe everyone who consents to give us his or her opinion on any given topic, should be respected whether one agrees with their particular position or not. I learnt years ago, there are always three sides to any story; mine, theirs and the truth? To think otherwise is indeed a folly. Take care FOXY, and your husband sounds like he's one very exceptional gentleman!

Hi Foxy, welcome back : )
I am glad your health is improving.
Your husband does sound like a treasure!

Mine is no slouch either I might add. My mum has moved to our town to live in an independent aged care unit and is very happy. My husband visits her regularly, does her home maintenance and drives her to Perth as needed, if she wants to see her other family.
We are lucky with our old boys I think...

Cheers,
Suse.

o sung wu,
Interesting one for u.
Up here where I live an A/C ran over and killed a bloke sleeping in the driveway of the Watchouse.
He is a well known soak, that is the A/C.
All sorts of new rules and regs out now for the area.
I happened to be making a U Turn very close to the blood patch when a female det
(badge on belt all shiny a new)suggested I was DUI and pulled a returning GD car
up to breath test me. Neg result but wait I could be a drug user, Second test for drugs.
By now the crowd had gathered to watch the pantomime. Test neg again.
The station commander came out to see what the fuss was all about, we knew each other very well
and he asked the det what was going on and she replied that she had "reasonable suspicion"
that I was driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
When he asked her to define her "reasonable suspicion" she said
"He's got bloodshot eyes"
Modern policing I suppose.

Perhaps we need a separate spot for those who like to talk about their health problems,
those who like to commiserate with strangers, those who are self-obsessed generally, and those who cannot type the full width of a page. Or, Facebook would probably be good for you, leaving OLO for people interested in the serious things affecting Australia, the world and humanity in general.

Hi there CHRISGAFF1000...

You would've thought this bird would be going about her job 'detecting' rather than playing at being on traffic duties screening for PCA's ? Modern policing you opine, you're not wrong, it's no wonder the job's 'TJF'!

Speaking of TJF - do you remember when that pommie bloke, Peter RYAN took over the top spot after Neil TAYLOR pulled the pin? One nameless bright spark in the CIB, organised a whole heap of T-Shirts to be made. With this picture of pig wearing a checked hat-band on a cap, above the large initials 'TJF' emblazoned across the front?

Apparently, the said Mr RYAN got real dark when he learned of this overt sign of disrespect of his administration, and declared that anyone caught wearing the T-Shirt would be strongly disciplined for bringing the force into disrepute? This was shortly after they captured ol' 'Chook' FOWLER on a hidden camera, allegedly accepting a bribe? And Peter baby was brought out from England, ostensibly to 'clean up' the job?

Back to your specific incident, I've now heard as component of the basic investigators course, it's essential you have an Optometry degree? As evidence of 'bloodshot eyes' are now considered a sure sign of culpability for anything they need to clear from their books? As I said Chris...TJF!

Yes, but how can you be sure that it is Fox and not her very naughty computer that is responsible for that nasty comment? -The computer that was logging onto OLO for her and taking a peek at who might be concerned while she was not missing at all? Meanwhile all were as usual, teasing Fox to participate.

It reminds of the wife of a one-time work colleague who died early from a heart attack. His wife always had to be teased into doing things, to eat, for example. Just a small portion if you must insist she would say. Then she would display the appetite and manners of a wharfie (sorry wharfies, just a figure of speech).

It is a female thing, though likely more so for the older generation of Boomer princesses, who constantly required teasing to cooperate and demand constant attention ('affirmation'/'emotional support' to them LOL).

Thank the Lord so many of the newer models are different. Yay for the young generations of women who make their own choices and don't fear taking the responsibility for their own decisions and lives.

Suse,

No. You don't get off that easily. Why did you pick on 'troll' and not 'arsehole' to take me to task. I don't care if it was a quote or not. Foxy was using it to suggest that I was not only a troll, but also an arsehole; you are so slippery, you wouldn't know the truth it bit you on that particular part of your anatomy. And, as usual, Foxy his hiding her vitriolic nature and the fact that she is not what she she pretends to be by quoting someone else. I should grow up? Well that's rich coming from your, girly. You and she are a right pair of harpies. Foxy does, at least, start of her own threads. When are you going to start posting some of your own thoughts instead of waiting in your web, like a black widow spider, to pounce on the posts of others you don't like? Dear Suse,

It seems that things are getting somewhat out of hand.
I entered this discussion in good faith in response
to Hasbeen and tried to re-assure his concerns (and
those of others) regarding my health. Then things
turned nasty and mean. I never for a moment imagined
that this discussion would continue for this long.
I thought with my explanations that would be the end
of it.

I suppose that I should be extremely flattered that
I attract so much attention from some people.
We all tend to react to posts that are designed to
provoke. We shouldn't - but I guess it's human nature.

ttbn should have a read of his own comments on the
article thread - "Homophobia claims by same-sex marriage
advocates are bullying: Comments," by Gary Johns on
page 2. He needs to take his own advice!

"Trolls are a pesky obnoxious sort
They grunt and growl and drool and snort
They constantly look for a place to play
While setting their sights on their very next prey."

Hi there TTBN...

Come on ol' man you're better then that? As you're probably aware, I generally disagree with much of FOXY'S politics, as well as some of her philosophical perspectives, but as an individual, she's a delightful person with a pretty good heart, as you're a equally good bloke! Considering some of the maggots and slugs I've had to deal with most of my life, you're all 'Angels' on this Site!

Furthermore, much of what you write and extrapolate your creditable point of view on, I don't have any quarrel with myself. So really this Forum is merely a vehicle for all of us hereon, to ventilate and debate our widely disparate opinions on all manner of subject matter. After all, it's not a case that we're betting huge 'Sheep Stations' on the outcome of our arguments, or anything quite so serious, it's all just a bit of fun, nothing else !

Suse,

How about a response to my well founded allegation about your trolling: ripping into posts you don't like, but rarely, if ever, positively asserting your own opinions. Worried that you might be criticized in the same way you criticise others? I know that you think that you are a tough cookie, but trying to put others down, but not putting up something yourself, appears to be opposite of your self-image.

Foxy,

You have a nice Easter with your family too. If we met without knowing who the other was, we would probably get along fine, if politics did not arise.

OSW,

Better than what? I am what I am, and well satisfied with it.

Poirot,

All I can say to you is: if you need to post how happy you are that I might be an areshole, there's not a lot happening in your life.

Keep it coming ttbn. I merely popped in to have a look at the action on OLO...and came across this ace rumpus room thread!

Dear ttbn,

Were we to meet in person I feel that we
would get on rather well and that we had
more in common then we expected. Perhaps
you might even learn that I
am not the menace you thought I was.
And I would find out that you're
neither a troll nor an ars**ole.

Enjoy your Easter break old chap.

Bazz>> I made enquires about Belly a couple of weeks ago, but as far as my contact knew he was still about. He lives near him and thinks
if he was unwell he would have heard.
His licence has not lapsed.<<

Thanks Bazz, I only just read your post.......

Hi there SONOFGLOIN & BAZZ...

I too, would like very much to encourage BELLY to return to the Forum and OLO? I respected the man immensely, for his pragmatic approach to many of life's problems, as well as his philosophical outlook on most things. A great loss to us all, I believe.

Thank you.
