I am sure it is we are again reading of sexual assaults and a very poor life in community's across Australia.
Headlines may say its the Northern Territory by its much more that that ,like the bashing of females it is country wide.
On one hand are the lunatic politically correct who themselves inflict pain on these folk.
By standing in the way of change and accountability, even education.
And on the other those who blame the community it self for being victims even the children as young as 5!
I know in my heart most of these victims are not in any way educated , and that we should without doubt not return children to some truly worthless homes.
Fear of being called racist is almost entrenching some true evil acts.
This must stop some way of truly impacting on the lives of the victims and making the perpetrators accountable must be found , history will not except our fears as an answer and it will not believe we failed to act because we blamed the victims.
If humans are all equal crimes must be punished equally justice must be color blind but never blind to acts so evil only a very long term sentence will do.

Quite in here isn't it? come tell me I am wrong, give me another way but we just can not let this lay.
It is real, it is happening today ,it will happen tomorrow not in far away NT but in a town or village near you.
While we talk kids who can not read or write, who have parents who can not read or write are suffering.
Parents and grand parents who never had a job sit watching children who with out change will never have a job.
Come with me to just a few homes and see for your selves our shame.
Yes I know it is shared shame not just the white mans fault but it is our shame too.
Why pay any fit person to sit down and do nothing? in a community that needs grass cut rubbish removed kids cared for?
Why send kids to school so teachers get paid but be interested in if they learn?
Why alowe some who indeed can not read or understand the reasons for this dreadful life to act more like racists than the worse ones?
Australia must stop the do gooders destroying any chance for change and we must not for another day waste our efforts.
Education and accountability are tools to bring improvement not a threat.
Accountability is not an evil word its outcomes are life changing.

I suggest acholol and pornography is resulting in far more child abuse than those who were unfortunate enough to be taken from their parents (sometimes with good intentions and sometimes not). One of the porn industries greatest customers are the aboriginal community. Add that to sit down money and drugs and you have created a hell on earth.

Noel Pearson seems to be one of the few aboriginal leaders willing to shake the victim tag and do something about his peoples plight. Unfortunately their is a lot of strife between tribes which make it difficult for the aboriginal people to have a voice of unity.

Focussing on 'the stolen generation' achieves very little. No doubt many blacks and whites have suffered great injustice. Living in the past solves nothing as we see in the Middle East.

Runner I agree with every word in your post, in fact the stolen generation included the children of poor white family's too.
The screams will start now but it is true! and just as wrong now as it was then.
However I do not propose such an out come just a refuge for kids in need and a chance at life.
I as a unionist have found it imposable to give jobs away in this community.
I think personal help and action from each of us is a way we should use more often and have with help from like minded firms had jobs at over $20 an hour on offer but no takers.
I know some very well educated Aboriginals are quite able to drive the needed change if we can just get it started.

Rainer I am aware of your interest, and I think you may be aware of mine.
However I am breathless to find the thread s of no interest to so many.
I could except the racist rants of both sides, yes Aboriginal racist who view the problem as a cash cow.
And the mindlessness of the red necks who blame only these people for the problem.
The silence however is heart breaking.
History will judge us badly, in truth I view the problem as one this country must confront now.
Tough love accountability from both sides.
Education that is useful.
And an end to some whites feeding like flys on the problem with no intent to change any thing.
I am white but see children too hard to handle being taken into special schools but only to produce money for that school not a life for the child.
A thread just like this in a long dead site I think you and I posted in years ago had over 200 posts and some true insight into a shameful thing our country has not got a handle on yet.
I think we Australians are far too comfortable, and we care less today for those who need help than we ever did before.
However we will one day find our comfort is not forever not guaranteed.
