This is another incident they are becoming more common, just wait till they bring over families and relatives to take advantage of family reunions.

We've just a late telegraph from our intrepid reporter Banjo, who knows more about the media than journalists, despite his lack of qualifications or experience in journalism. How does he do it? (he doesn't - he just pretends he does).

Or maybe that is how he does it - he just accepts everything anybody tells him as fact as long as it accords with his medieval prejudices.

You don't have to believe everything you're told: if somebody tells you a story but they don't have any supporting data, you're allowed to treat it the same way as you would a fairy tale.

Journalists have sources, and they check facts, and you can chase up their stories for yourself. Giving the same credence to a newspaper article and the hearsay you received second-hand in the pub makes no sense to me. The blokes in the pub could just be making up stories, and anybody can make up stories - there is no way to verify. Whereas there are checks and balances on journalists, and they can't just make up whatever stories they like.

I guess that's how psychics and crystal healing gurus make their money - they come up with a good story and hope that enough people won't have sufficient sceptical faculties to bother checking the facts for themselves.

Maybe the police just couldn't determine his ethnicity? If his paternal grandfather was Irish, his paternal grandmother was Chinese, his maternal grandmather was Basarwa and his maternal grandmother was Portugese, what ethnicity would you class him as?

Does it matter? Sexual assault is sexual assault whether it's committed by some half-caste mongrel or a nice white boy.

If the racial identity of the perpetrator is more important to you than the crimes he has committed, there is something wrong with you.

Here we go again. A man 26 has been arrested for the rape and sexual assault of two girls in western Sydney. He was recently released from jail but his name or ethnicity was not disclosed. Yet in the same edition of the Tele a cyclist was actually named for getting a ticket for failing to wear a helmet and his picture was front page. So why was the sex offender not named and his ethnicity made known.

Other alleged sex offenders, one in Darwin and another in St Kilda had their description and ethnicity published today. They are both Caucasian and one picture was published.

I wonder if the alleged offender in western Sydney will have his ethnicity and name made known. One can be excused for thinking that only happens if the alleged offender is anglo.

Best keep a closer eye on this in future and maybe a log.

Ethnic criminals, particularly those of the Islamic persuasion, generally have their ethnicity protected both by government, police command and editorial staff of the print media. You may well ask why, if you can determine the correct answer please let me know? I'm buggered if I can find a legitimate reason, other than they don't wish to stir any anti-immigrant hysteria, by identifying any specific ethnicity or locality?

When I was a detective sergeant i/c, of a particular TF we had operating in Bankstown and it's environs, after we secured a decent pinch, the only precise particulars the media would mention concerning the suburb where the TF was operating, was a 'south western Sydney suburb'. One mustn't mention Bankstown, must we?
