The Western media has taken upon itself to demonize the Assad regime.
In 1971, Bashar's father became President,apart from
a few attacks on Israel. The Assad family has presided over a peace haven in the Middle East, unlike most Middle Eastern counties.
Syrian Christians enjoyed freedom to practise their religion.
In 2011,a civil war broke out when radicalised Islamists started to attack the Syrian army.
Seeing his people murdered by terrorists. Assad was forced to take military action. No western power helped him fight the terrorists as they were preoccupied with other Muslim countries.
Now that Russia has taken upon itself to help Assad.Western leaders thinking the Cold War still exists have asked that assad leave.
The result would mean a blood bath for the Syrian Christians, and any liberal Muslims left in the country.

You must have evidence for that. Otherwise you wouldn't post it.

Tony Abbott actually said "the bad guys fighting the even worse guys". That is the best summation of the whole rotten mess. Australia should stay out of these conflicts as they always end badly.
The only saving grace is the experience given to our armed forces making them so good any enemy would baulk at taking them on.

2015. All bad but Assad is a bit better.
Abbott's kindergarten talk takes hold on good guys with good Anzac bombs.
