Well said Foxy.

We all know that Clive is there to further his own interests, but, then again, they are all there for that reason, They're not there for people's interest.

Clive has picked up on that fact & is pushing what the majority of Australians want to happen. Yes, yes, I know. We have a vocal minority that claim the moral high ground, but that's not what the majority of Australians on all sides of politics really want. People want a system that works, presently it is just a shemozzle of self interest.

Clive Palmer is a loose cannon and a very rich one at that and unfortunately, his parliamentary duties are well down his list of objectives', as he focuses on fighting his Chinese partners over claimed dirty deals.

But, his biggest distraction is that he has an axe to grind with the QLD premier.

So, for anyone out there who saw this guy as an uplifting alternative, you have been duded!

The only reason he has acquired the amount of votes he has is because of voter dissatisfaction of the two major parties, the greens and the now tainted independent option, at the hand of Oakshot and Windsor. You know, the ones who ran from the fight.

I cant say it enough, people should be careful what they wish for as they just may not like the result.

*A senate dominated by a total fruit cake for the next six years is a disaster.*

And a lower house peopled by a fruitcake government is not a disaster?

Anyone accusing someone else of having an own interest is either extremely stupid or extremely hypocritical. Everyone has an own interest.

I predict Big Clive will grow tired of politics after enjoying the initial buzz that a little bit of power has given him. Then he'll pull the plug on PUP, and cut off the cash, oh! dear. Clive will then vacate Canberra, leaving behind his motley collection of senators to fend for themselves, oh! dear. Some, without the benefit of a cashed up Clive will give it away, in 6 years from now, what a relief! that will be the front row forward, or attempt to run as an independent, like the sheila from Tassie, with a campaign financed on a shoe string, oh! dear.
At the moment they are all riding high, including the motoring man, and the bloke who's big comment is Canberra is cold, let me inside, so let them enjoy their 15 minutes of fame, oh! dear.

It appears that Mr Palmer is imposing a price on each piece of government legislation that he agrees to accept, and that that price is so far one in the interests of the Australian people.

Not as much in the public interest, perhaps, as demanding a double dissolution so that the Coalition of the Lying has to submit its major actual legislation (unlike the tissue of pre-election lies and concealments) and unheralded IPA-directed administrative measures specifically to the people.

But even that is inferior to democracy (i.e. binding citizen-initiated referenda as in California). Representative government means government OF the people BY the political parties FOR those who buy them.
