David Holmgren has published a paper in which he advocates the eliberate
sabotage of the economy, Crash on Demand, as he titles it.
He believes that an economic crash will be too late to reduce Green House Gases.

He seems to think it is necessary for the 10% who understand to make
decisions for the 90% of us who do not understand.

I think it is something that everyone should read as David Holmgren
has a very wide world following because of his Permaculture program
which I believe is a very good program.

I would like to hear what others think of his proposal.

your introduction sounds rather interesting & is explanatory enough but I lost concentration reading all the waffle in the link.

Bazz I could never agree to this blokes theory that the few rule over the most.
In fact hold fears that to some extent is what is taking place now.
Too I see it becoming true at some point in the future.

Your fears are not unfounded. It's happening alright & the way the do it is by educating our young into stupidity by giving them he highest qualifications for literally nothing.
Anyone who doesn't agree with this could explain why we have so much incompetence now.
But, do not equate tertiary qualification with pragmatism because it is in the field of pragmatsism that our society is rapidly deteriorating.

The thing I find most interesting about these people is that they are always self appointed "leaders". I wonder if they would be so interested in a small elite ruling the world, if it was guaranteed that they would not be allowed into said elite.

It is always someone who has gone so far overboard with some idea that they attract a small, but rabid following of ratbags. Somehow this gives then the idea they are suited to rule.

They always bring to mind "The Hitchers Guide to the Galaxy", & where we should dispatch the lot of them.
