We have laws in Australia that deal with crimes like these, no matter who you are.
I am sure Government money has been misappropriated by people from all walks of life.

Nah! Things have moved on from there. What we reaaaaaaaaaaaaally need is a treaty, and special recognition in the constitution, and teaching in/of indigenous languages and more episodes of Redfern Now on ABC prime-time...
