Yes Lexi my sweet, she's in a class all her own.

I won't tell you what class that is, as I don't want to up set you.

How are your test results?

May not be back for a while, I'm running out of fuel for the generator. Our illustrious Energex, our power supplier, after promising our power would be back by 2.00 PM today, has now announced 3.00PM tomorrow.

Ain't life grand, in the sunshine state.

I suppose it's better than the old knighthoods that could be "bought" if you knew the right people.
Although I missed out (again) this year, congratulations to the winners anyway.

Dear Hasbeen,

Thanks for that - but you wouldn't upset me.
I'm just playing with you.

My test results? I've been diagnosed with AF
(atrial fibrillation) which they tell me is only
going to get worse. They've recommended Electrical
Cardioversion for me to fix this problem. Apparently
its a procedure during which a synchronised electrical
current (shock) is delivered to the heart through the
chest wall. This activates all the heart cells
simultaneously, thereby interrupting and terminating
abnormal electrical circuits in the heart so normal
heart rhythm can resume. The current delivered is
limited and can be repeated a few times if necessary
without damaging the heart.

I will undergo this procedure in approx. six weeks time,
(5th March), I'll be in hospital overnight. Then for another
six weeks I'm to take things easy.

Hopefully, I shall get my life back. At the moment things
aren't too good.

Take car.

Good luck with it old mate, hope you've got a good electrician doing the work for you.

It is amazing what they can do medically today, provided you get treatment soon enough.

I recently found out an old plantation owner mate of mine had died a while back. He had a minor heart attack, less than mine, but it took 2 days to get any evacuated from his atoll to a small hospital, then an other couple of days to get to Cairns for modern treatment.

They patched him up, but told him he had to live within half an hour of good treatment, if he wanted to make it to old age. Not possible for him.

Make sure you let us know how it goes, & keep the ambulance on your speed dial.

Lexi

AT is quite common and it does get a bit worse with age. Rest assured then that medical specialists have a solid grip on treatment.

As well, you are in early before any damage has been done it appears, which should also assure you.

Here is hoping for an uneventful procedure which I am sure it will be and a speedy recovery.

Get ready to do some of those things that were too tiring to even think of before.

It will be a new lease of life, renewal. Maybe not 21 again but you will feel thirty something. A report will be required :)
