Has anyone ever seen Has-been agree with anything.

Lol 579 :).
Hasbeen disagrees with all subjects just to get the ball rolling for a lively discussion I think! Hasbeen, there weren't actually any personal male equipment visible in the Cleo centrefolds, because our Australian of the Year, Ita, was far more classy than the editors of all the disgusting full frontal men's magazines around at the time. How about you tell us exactly WHO you would have chosen as Aussie of the year then Hasbeen? Posted by Suseonline, Saturday, 26 January 2013 10:59:17 AM

I'm usually fairly cynical about "who's the best awards", however, this morning my son asked if he could watch the Australia Day Awards online. so we watched them together.
And would you believe it - there are a lot of big-hearted community-minded people out there making a positive difference to a lot of lives who would otherwise find the struggle overwhelming. My advice? Watch shows like this with an eleven year-old who hasn't yet learned the art of cynicism - he only saw the good in the people highlighted and the positives for the community. Poirot - Quote From another thread you wrote
"Here you go people.... Our Young Australian of the Year - and not just a token gesture. Imagine if we encouraged a few more like this - instead of damning them and their families. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-01-25/afghan-refugee-azimi-named-young-australian/4484958 This person may well be deserving, but with over 10,000 refugees arriving since August 13th and the issue possibly being an election loosing issue this one stinks of a POLITICALLY MOTIVATED WIN. Just like Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Posted by Philip S, Saturday, 26 January 2013 11:27:59 AM

Philip S...well whatever the motivation for Akram Azimi's recognition, he's a good bloke who has gone out of his way to help other "Australians" and embrace Australia and its ways in general.
All the people I watched this morning are to be lauded - as opposed to some of us (myself included) who have nothing better to do or to offer our communities than the venting of our frustrated spleens and the polishing of our egos on vacuous blogs. Poirot - As stated "This person may well be deserving" but very very few of the refugees are coming here under the same circumstances as he did as a family and 11 YO.
95% on most boats are men aged around early 20's to late 40's. Politically motivated decisions usually stand out like a sore thumb, just like Juliar deciding Nova Peris will be nominated to run as the Labor candidate rather than the incumbent person.
