Malaysia and Indonesia are a big part of the problem because they let them in without a visa or return flight, they know they are not tourists who will go home after a holiday, this indicates some high people are getting some sort of reward for this policy (bribes or cheap labor) Australia are partly to blame because they know this but do nothing or say nothing about it yet we give them billion in foreign aid.

A VERY suspicious person might put forward the suggestion that a certain multinational private security and detention centre operator is backing the "people smugglers" or more likely paying Indonesian officials to ensure a steady flow of immigrants.

Perhaps one suggestion would be to redirect our military ships so that they do their training/war games in this region, as their presence would no doubt act as a deterrent.

But the only way to stop the boats is to remove what it is they are coming for.

Being confinned to a detention centre, knowing there is a better than average chance of being accepted in to Australia has to be far more attractive an option than staying where it is they came from.

Remove this, and the people smugglers have nothing to sell.
