You might be onto something Arjay.
It is a possible scenario. Has Rudd already lined up a post should he be unsuccessful, resign cause a by-election and possible toppling of the Gillard government? The ultimate revenge. Posted by pelican, Saturday, 25 February 2012 7:02:44 AM

Pelican. If Labor stay with either Gillard or Rudd they must realise it is the end. Here is their chance to break from both and elect a new leader. The phones will be running hot this weekend with members trying to find the best outcome. They must be trying the limit the damage beacause with the economy going backwards many will lose their seats come the next election. It will be a Labor rout bigger than NSW.

Arjay, I think the polls say it all.
Rudd 53% Gillard 30% But hang on a minute, ALP support for Rudd 58% and for Gillard 41% not too much of a lead there? However, Coalition support for Gillard 24% and for Rudd 51%, What? Rudd’s popularity figures against Gillard are from the Coalition. I think some voters are playing with the ALP’s head? Posted by spindoc, Saturday, 25 February 2012 11:03:12 AM

spindoc.you don't have to play with Labor's head too much to realise, there ain't much there of substance to fiddle with.
If your figures are correct, this means Labor are retreating to a failed leader to minimise the damage. He is not well liked even within his own party and does not have the common touch of a Bob Hawke to appeal to traditional Labor voters. If they cannot find someone better than Rudd, then this party is totally clueless and bereft of talent. They all should just resign in shame and put both us and themselves out of our collective misery. Speaking of political cartoons - we in the west have Dean Alston whose cartoons are highly entertaining. At the moment, Kev is toting around a voodoo doll of Julia in every cartoon he appears in - good for a chuckle.
here's some examples of Alston's work: http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/opinion/post/-/blog/deanalston/post/71/comment/1/ http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/opinion/post/-/blog/deanalston/post/63/comment/ Posted by Poirot, Saturday, 25 February 2012 1:06:57 PM

Enter Wayne Swan viewing Julia in a sweat, attempting to beat the living daylights out of a rug with mirror attached.
Wayne; What are you doing Julia? His name is Rudd not Rug.
Julia; He's hiding here somewhere and just refuses to die.
Wayne; Is this like John Howard with a tripple by pass?
Julia; No,this is far worse. This rug has the stench of dead Labor and
we must eradicate it.
Wayne; You are losing it Julia.Kevin must be just hiding under the rug
It is not really him.
Julia; Then he must be hiding in that mirror.Vanity thy name is..
Wayne; Don't smash it Julia,it could be 7 yrs bad luck!
Julia; We've already all the Ruddy bad luck I can tolerate.
Julia smashes the mirror in a vain attempt to destroy Kevin.
What do you think will happen on Monday? Has Kevin destroyed Kevin or has he already line up that illustrious UN posting in which PM is just a lesser option?
What will be next exciting episode of farcical Labor as they parody their way into oblivion?
