In another thread the word respect is highlighted.
It should be here.
And in every thread I can ever remember posting in.
Respect, understanding, that indeed every action has a reaction.
This event never should have taken place.
Yet it does every day every hour some place.
I note some have a side and take it, use this event to fuel private fires.
But with increasing need respect is a tool that we use far less than we should.
The troops will be punished, harshly for a foolish and wrong act.
The photo taker, may be rewarded for the photo, with cash.
His/her actions too had no respect for the dead.

OUG NO!
25 million Japanese died because of napalm bombing in ww2 Japan?
Not that number all reasons, in the whole war!
Now why did the yanks do this, why do we see every army do it and worse.
Some one said indoctrination, well yes every army has been indoctrinated to think THEY, the other side, are EVIL/WRONG.
What can be done.
Very little, but from me it may/will look strange.
America, increasingly,is developing its own version of Christianity, while other western country's are shifting away from it.
Slowly but true.
Fundamentalism, in any creed, may blind us to the sameness of humans.
We seem now to have no fences to show us how to live and how not to.
Maybe the west at least should have a charter of life, rules to live by.
Once provided by Church's.
If we do not find boundary's they may be imposed on us.
Once, in Australia at least, we called each other to task for behavior such as this.
OUG research death toll in full ww2, look then at Chinas toll, not included for some reason in that toll.
Find deaths in south east Asia at hands of Japan, add to the total the female sex slaves treated so badly and killed .
Then forgive as your God says, I have too.
But this I wish for,why is modern Japan, not telling the truth,in its education, about its past?
Maybe you read in their books of 25 million burnt to death.

""A Forgotten Holocaust: US Bombing Strategy,

the Destruction of Japanese Cities
and the American Way of War from World War II to Iraq [*]

Mark Selden

World War II was a landmark..in the development and deployment of technologies of mass destruction..associated with air power, notably the B-29 bomber, napalm and the atomic bomb.

An estimated 50 to 70 million people lay dead in its wake.

In a sharp reversal of the pattern of World War I and of most earlier wars, a substantial majority of the dead were noncombatants.

[1] The air war, which reached peak intensity with the area bombing, including atomic bombing, of major European and Japanese cities in its final year, had a devastating impact on noncombatant populations.

What is the logic
and what have been the consequences—for its victims,""

mate its a long thread
im over explaining
if bbc said 25 million..i agree with them

""While the US continued to proclaim adherence..to tactical bombing, tests of firebombing options..against Japanese homes throughout 1943-44 demonstrated that M-69 bombs were highly effective against the densely packed wooden structures of Japanese cities.

[19] In the final six months of the war, the US threw the full weight of its air power into campaigns to burn whole Japanese cities to the ground and terrorize, incapacitate and kill their largely defenseless residents in an effort to force surrender.

mate im over debaiting the numbers

war is hell
anmyone saying only solgers die...lie

the numbers of civil deaths compaered to military deaths

war is wrong.
uog,
The challenge is to work out how to stop it. Even greater is the challenge of making people think. Fighting seems an easier option.
