I hope in understanding just how wrong this was we know it is no single act.
In condemning the silly action, and its filming, we remember those hands tied while their throats are cut.
The terror we never saw in Christian faces about to die.
Children, of all faiths, all sides killed by all sides.
In talking of this issue let us all remember war is hell.
It always has been always will be, no films exist from a thousand past wars a million million past cruel acts.
Foolish, yes, but not unrepresentative of all wars all sides.

We should demand better from our soldiers and expect more. We should condemn anything thing that humiliates them like this and what happened at Abu Ghraib even for only the reason it saves them from themselves ... and us, from them.

These soldiers need to be kept in touch with humanity and reality even from the distance we are from them. We NEED to let them know boundaries all the while understanding the horrors these men are experiencing.

This is the exact reason the military are SO HARD on their troops while they're still green.

One day these troops need to assimilate back into society. We don't need don't need trained killers with psychological damage being completely unsympathetic to other humans.

Sorry, 'them' being the enemy combatants.

Now I am not saying this was by any means right, but we must remember, these dead soles just hours, days earlier were doing their danmdest to kill then likes of the offending soldiers.

This is war after all.

Why do some people still have this mentality of two wrongs making a right.
Yes they would have killed their killers had they gotten the upper hand but to do what those yanks did AND film it it makes me feel no better. Don't forget that both sides of a conflict are the victims of indoctrination.

I was a pilot. Nice clean fighting. I shot things, aircraft, trucks tanks etc. The blood & guts, if any, was a long way away.

I'm not too sure how I'd behave if I had had to pick a mates guts out of the dust, after a road side bomb was detonated by these blokes, or their compatriots. I may not have been kind.

I know I'd like to send the likes of Obama, & H Clinton out on a foot patrol in Afghanistan, & then see how holey they are. It's easy to shoot your mouth off, when there is no chance you'll ever be asked to be in the situation.

At least that pair are safe from me. I would not repeat the complement on them, even if they were on fire.
