rehctub,
I'm with you on that but we'll never get the do-gooder brigade to understand.

Yes, but if this government can introduce a potential life changing tax with a lie, then surely they can implement changes to ensure the tax payers dollars are being spent the way they were intended.

After all, the recipients can't manage the money, or at least a large portiocn of them, so stern intervention is what is required before the whole system collapses.

It is only a matter of time before the tax payers will revolt on mass, as all it would take is for the mining boom to suddenly stop, and that could happen if the greens get their wish.

Of cause the greens obviously haven't considered the consequences of our country without mining.

The bottom line is, a part of any reform, beit tax, or anything else, is the way in which the system is run and or the funds are distributed.

Removing the wasted cash from welfare would go a long way towards providing a decent lifestyle for the under priv kids out there.

Removing the wasted cash from welfare,
rehctub,
Waste in general is contributing to the economic & social decline in Australia. I witness on a daily basis gross waste on several fronts. Political pussy-footing, insane over-payment of incompetence within the public service & the total lack of responsibility by the Law Makers.
We have too many people on easy street hence their total lack of interest towards making things right again in Australia. We also have to many doing it tough because of the easy street crowd not giving a toss about anyone except themselves at election time. Just look at the extreme selfishness on display at Qantas right now. If the irish git volunteered to drop a couple of millions a year in his salary then the other lot might curb their claims. What's this dispute got to do with welfare ? just about everything.
