Thanks to the dodgy deals our PM has done, in her bid to win office at any cost, we are now stuck in a state of limbo, unable to achieve anything due mainly to the lack of confidence in the nations leader.

Blind Freddie knows that Kevin in the best leader labor has, but, madam PM now has two guns held to her head with regards to pokie reforms.

May I suggest that if Kevin wishes to run the country, perhaps he should switch sides.

Look out if Turnbull decides to have another crack.

rehctub,
Labor can't be led because it is being led by half-baked academics with no concept of concept.

Are you taking over from SM rehctub.

Julia Gillard's popularity has no doubt suffered because of the removal of Kevin Rudd as PM and the fact her leadership has had to deal with the effects of a hung parliament. It would be the same with the LNP. The Independents have publicly said Abbott was willing to do anything to get the top job. So what is the difference if it is the Libs or the Labs doing 'dodgy' deals? Why are they dodgy? Is it because you disagree with them? Would it still be a dodgy deal if it was the LNP dealing with the Greens and introducing a Carbon Tax. You are delusional if you think it would not have been on the table to win government.

The ALP made a mistake in being pressured by the Greens on the Carbon Tax and perhaps in not negotiating other climate change actions. That alone may have made a difference in the PM's standing. However I am yet to see a policy from the Liberal Party - why is the public so scorned by the Libs that we cannot be privy to the policies that will affect us? Is it secret? Why when questioned by the press do none of the Liberal leaders answer honestly about what they would do on certain policy issues.

The LNP have damaged attempts by government to reduce the burden on ordinary taxpayers by opposing the Super Profits Mining Tax. The scare mongering was typical but to be fair all of this may have been avoided better negotiating and consultation by the ALP prior to announcing the proposal. It does not excuse the response by the LNP.

As for Gillard versus Rudd, I can understand it from a perception POV however those who have met both leaders and who have had to deal with them in any capacity you might find a different set of opinions. Although it is one thing to oust and opposition leader, quite another to oust a PM. All round, despite my personal feelings, it was probably a mistake.

Pelican In response to our post.

The dodgy deal is th one that she made with Andrew wilki and now rob oaks has joined in.

The reason for the latter is simply because he will never be voted in again so wants to make the most of it. There can be no other reason.

The fault with this deal is that less than 2% of the gamblers are problem gamblers, yet, they wish to chage the rules for all. Typical!

Now as for libs policies, they are not in government, so therefore they ar not obliged to offer any, but they will when an election is called.

In any case, who in their right mind would say anything when w have such an incompitent government. They will hang themselves, I just hope there is something left to salvage when they are done.

Mining tax.
I am not opposed to a tax on mining as they are our assetts.

Tax the minerals by all means, increase royalties, but don't tax the job creators as they are our life blood at present an, unless you are on a different planet, you would realize just how important they are to our economy.

If you increase costs of any business it is hard to recoup, however, increase the buy price of the goods (minerals) and it simply gets passed on easier by the end user.

Another option would be to place a levy on the exported minerals.

But I still feel th best option of all would be a transaction tax.
