Cactus:)
I suggest you get a real life involving people. I watched the show because I know the people behind the Australiarna Village where it was filmed. I wanted to see how they promoted the village.

Oh Philo.....its rather ironic your sitting at the same place Iam at, don't you think:) Philo, I used to work for the film industry ( spectrum movies Inc ) and have worked for WIN4 TV, real people Philo? Come on, you can do better than that my friend. Maybe you can ring up Paul Mcalbe at the Wollongong station. Just mention FISHING UNLIMITED and the words Jarvis Bay "The eves or The tubes"....Philo, arr...those were the days:)
However thanks for the interesting post, and its too bad that more movies are not made locally.

Rapanewie "sorry for the wrong spelling, however the story line was about Easter Island and the down-fall of its culture. Set construction and props departments, making all sorts of things relating to the time period.

Australiarna Village where it was filmed. I wanted to see how they promoted the village....yes interesting stuff, I hope the history lesson is a fruitful one.

Cheers

Cactus,

I watched part of it to see if it would be as bad as I expected it to be.

It was.

The sight of lead bullets defying the laws of physics and producing sparks against an iron target always makes me laugh.

Then there are the 'Colonial' buildings with great gaps in the walls which send a message to the world that not only were the pioneers a hardy breed but magnificently stupid as well.

$25/week for Pay TV is a gross waste of money.

I watched part of it to see if it would be as bad as I expected it to be.

It was. Yes unfortunately its successes didn't meet expectations. Rapa Nui is a 1994 film directed by Kevin Reynolds. It was produced by Kevin Costner and Barrie M. Osborne, among others. The plot is based on Rapanui legends of Easter Island, Chile, in particular the race for the Sooty Tern's egg in the Bird-man Cult.

The historic details of this film are questionable, but the central theme—the destruction of the island's irreplaceable forests—is well authenticated.

One of the reasons I found the history so interesting, is the fact that in other parts of the world today, with "human-overpopulation and deforestation" in similar cultures such as the palm oil industry, one can see the modern day equivalent. I watched the Wild Boys series trailer, and unlike pay TV, its OK for what it is.

Watched ten minutes of it last night; OK, so I've got masochistic tendencies.
