Yes OUG there does not seem to be an urgency to clean it up.Perhaps they don't know what to do.Caesium has a half life of 30 yrs and Uranium millions of yrs.Russia had Chernobyl encased in concrete within months but this just continues to spew out radiation.

So everyone needs to be careful when cleaning/replacing any air filters since this is where the particles concentrate.There should be a repositry where these filters can be removed from the environment and sent back to Tepco.

Whilst the tragedy in Japan is indeed a tragedy of monumental proportions, gas frakking is bone stupidity. World experience already shows that this practice is an environmental disaster waiting to happen. Not the answer to a clean energy future in the slightest.
