Probably the greatest debate this century so far is the reasons behind the invasion of Afghanistan. Most definitely you could write a thousand books on the topic but this is the first time I've come across ANYONE with as much inside knowledge on the war as Michael Ware saying what he is.

I accidentally found the lecture and I'm SHOCKED at the lack of interest in the topic by anyone in the media. Really though, I think that's intentional. I've been following Michael Ware's career since around 2004 when he was embedded with the US Army in the Battle for Falujah in Iraq. There's a book called House to House by David Bellavia where Ware features for much of the story.

I only found this lecture because I'm 'always' trawling for info on Ware. I cut the relevant section from the original video and uploaded it myself. A link to the full lecture is in the description of the video. Really interested in your thoughts on it.

Dear Stg,

Thanks for the upload, sobering stuff. It really brings home the point that the 'fundies' are just tools for those in power. The Russians, Yanks, Pakistanis, Indians, Saudis etc use them at will to serve geopolitical strategies while they are a convenient scapegoat when blame needs to be apportioned.

Staggering figures though on how many Australians have served. If one might be a cynic one could be forgiven thinking the high rotations are because our military chiefs welcome the chance to 'battle harden' our forces in a relatively 'safe' conflict.
