Is Paris Hilton just playing dumb?

So in 'The Simple Life' starring Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie they looked like complete airheads. The premiere episode drew 13 million viewers, increasing Fox's Adults 18-49 rating a phenomenal 79%. Dumb obviously sells! The second episode drew 13.3 million viewers, an increase of 200,000 viewers over its premiere. During the airing of the series, Fox added two extra episodes and a reunion special, which continued to draw ratings. With results like this, it was only natural that Fox would order a second season.

Google has now reported that the most googled term in 2007 was 'Paris Hilton' believe it or not. She even has her own music now!

The YouTube website is going off and people just can't seem to get enough of this talentless Bimbo. So is she a self marketing genius or just a braindead blonde? I reckon anyone idiotic enough to put a metal cooking pot in a microwave is certainly ignorant, but I'm uncertain as to whether or not she is acting.

“So is she a self marketing genius or just a braindead blonde?”

They say we have the cult of the celebrity these days. Be it Paris Hilton, Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt.

I do not mind. People will always find idols. These days they are called celebrities, in past generations it was Royalty and Military leaders, Horatio Nelson and Arthur Wellesley.

Strangely one group of folk who one might think would be up there as heroes and celebrities are always the vilified, the politicians. Pitt and Fox, Disraeli and Gladstone all suffered as much vilification and lampooning as Howard, Hawke, Keating and Costello. Ah, what ever happened to “rubbery figures”?.

I do not feel inclined to vilify Paris Hilton, nor do I envy her the “fame” she has achieved.

She is some ones daughter. I only hope her parents feel as proud of her as I am proud of my daughters.

My guess would be that "The Simple Life" is scripted from front to back. Why take chances?

What scares me is Google's power to obtain statistics from the future...

Sorry. I mean't 2006. My bad.

Guess where Paris Hilton is right now.

Sydney. She just got off the plane at 11am. Would have arrived earlier except she forgot her passport and missed her earlier flight. Why am I unsurprised.

John Singleton invited her to help promote a beer and judge a beauty pageant aimed at discovering a Bondi Blonde to advertise his cats p-i-s-s. The remarks from visitors to the article in the comments section invariable say "Go home Paris!".

One of the things I most like about Paris Hilton is that she lives in America and not here.

Paris Hilton arrives in Sydney.

God help us.

She plans to stay until 2 Jan 2007.

No more references to her being paid a fee for picking the Bikini babe, though.

Previously, this appeared

I have wondered what kind of visa she'd have that allows her to perform paid work in Australia.
